"This hotel was the worst one I have ever stayed in, I expect that it's an Old building, but the overall state of repair is shocking, when you exit the elevator to any floor you see white flakes of paint and wood at every opening, this I deduced was the wood work of the doorway, which was being battered by the wheeled baskets ,that is used for transporting the bed clothes and other parafenalia to and from the rooms, the windows were ill fitting and drafty the door was as if the norm was to prise it open with a screwdriver. The management should prioritise inspecting the place and ensuring that Old doesn't have to mean TATTY."

"Had a great stay, convenient to Scarborough spa, very hilly area around though. Room nice and clean but sink taps didn't work properly, no cold water, a half bottle of water left in fridge. The carpets in the corridors to the room abit tired could do with a really good clean or changing. The spa was lovely, the staff all friendly, had a lovely stay and would stay again, rooms very hot."

"Misleading information from staff ruined what should have been a simple experience. We were told at reception that our voucher could be used for afternoon tea, then showed it again in the lounge before ordering and were seated without issue. Only at payment were we told it didn’t apply and charged full price, which feels completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, there were no towels in the room when we needed them, and the room was unbearably hot with no proper way to cool it. Overall, poor communication and basic standards not being met — wouldn’t stay again."

"We had an amazing view over the harbour. Our fourth visit to Tall Storeys. Ian and Morna are the perfect hosts. The place is immaculate and in a way that totally befits the age and style of Tall Storeys. Can’t overegg the welcome and hospitality we receive when we go there. They are attentive and so kind, but not overpowering. Ian cooks the best classy breakfast in Scarborough, and Morna attends you with graceful aplomb. Our favourite go to place in Scarborough and so well located for easy walking access to South Beach and elsewhere. Can’t rate this place highly enough."

"Of course, great views from the front. Watching sunrise and Sunset colours across the sky were amazing. The decor of the hotel is lovely and our bedroom was quite pleasant. Shower is adequate a large double bed in the front bedroom made the room rather small. Not everybody wants a full breakfast and there needs to be some provision of just toast and coffee with a subsequent change in price."

"We stayed last Saturday for a long overdue break away. The staff (all of them) go above and beyond for everything.. whether a couple of extra tea bags or general queries at reception. Our room was immaculate and looking out over the sea and so very peaceful. We left feeling rested and although we had never stayed over night in Scarborough, both my husband and I said we would book another break very soon simply based on bring a wonderful experience. "
