Negative: inadequate sound-proofing; uneven responsiveness by under trained staff when dealing with issues. "Small room overall. Shower wand was broken. The hallway was incredibly hot and had an unpleasant odor. They added a previously undisclosed $220.00 fee for the stay which was a surprise on arrival and was over and above the pre-paid 2 night stay for $433.98. All-in all, not worth the stay and will look elsewhere in the future."

"Staff were friendly and open to assisting with amenities. Rooms were clean, and towels or soap were available any time of day or night. The gym was open the entire trip, with a variety of equipment, and kept clean by both guests and staff. Overall, a very pleasant experience."

"We had an AMAZING stay at Hotel Arts. For the price, the amenities were excellent, with 2 restaurant/bars, a plush pool area, and small gym conveniently located on site. This may be kind of nerdy, but the fact that the TV was Chromecast enabled was also a plus, allowing no shortage of in-room entertainment. Also, TONS of great places to eat and drink just across the street. We were in town for a convention and the Calgary Expo is about a 10 minute walk that is enjoyable with your morning...

"Clean rooms and a very well-maintained hostel overall. The common areas are great, and the breakfast is simple but does the job. I’d definitely stay here again. Most of the guests I met were in their 20s, often on work-cations, which made for a nice atmosphere. The location is excellent—right downtown, close to transit, and within walking distance of the convention center. One downside: the women’s shower heads could use some maintenance."
