Very nice hotel. I think good for older crowd. Room was very nice. Kitchen well appointed. Good location. Would probably stay there again if price was right. We did not do the all inclusive.
We have been to this resort many times and believe it's very good value. Sister resort to villa del palmar you share the beach and can partake in all the activities. All units have kitchen ets.
The location is ideal. Near a shopping center n quick transportation downtown.
Great place for a family vacation with kids given access to beach and couple big pools. Outside food options available nearby if you're doing the all inclusive (which I never recommend as it locks you in one place).
The place is in the heart of a long busy thoroughfare so if your room is near that big avenue, you'll hear the street noise all day.
We enjoy staying at Villa del Palmar. We have stayed multiple times and twice this month. It was our first at the Mexican Experience. Rooms are clean and this section of the resort is quiet and less crowded. Armando was very helpful with our luggage and mentioned different things we could do with our children during our stay. During our stay we visited the restaurant bar. We ordered food and my son’s and husband’s food came but mine, my sister’s and brother’s didn’t. They finished eating and we still had not received it. It took more than an hour when it was addressed by the waiter who said my order had been sent to the other restaurant then another waiter came and said they had run out of what we had ordered. During both stays this month I was not satisfied with the restaurant services.
The breakfast, at $40 Canadian per person was WAY too expensive ( we were not “all inclusive but wanted to enjoy a few breakfasts at the resort with our friends).
We went to a very long time share presentation and were supposed to receive $300 USD in couons to use at resort. In reality, the coupons were a total value of $240 at the resort, and we were shorted one.
Any purchases had to be made with a credit card. We would have far preferred using the cash we brought with us, or at least to have a cash option.
However, despite those issues, we loved our stay, and would stay there again.
It would be nice if the pool was open until 11pm rather than 10pm. We were often out for the evening and missed out on a swim as the pool closed at 10.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
The hotel was not what I expected. Pools aren’t kids appropriate. Both pools are to deep for kids. There was no service at the pools. I ordered pizza and it was super expensive for a small individual size that tasted like the microwave pizza. Requested a roller way bed and it took them more almost 2 hours do deliver it. The hotel was to boring, no music and they don’t have any snacks all day do purchase in the pool area. Was not able to buy any sushi because it was only to eat at the restaurant. Employees at the bar and restaurant don’t even make u feel welcome. It seems like they don’t even like there jobs. I will not recommend this hotel to friends and family. I won’t stay there again.
Overall stay at this location was good. I would say that the check In process was the worst for us. As we arrived we asked about checking in early so I asked a woman at a front desk about this. She was an employee of the hotel and when asked she said the check in was at 3pm but the earliest my room would be available would be at 1pm. She mentioned I could use the amenities and so we proceeded to buy some food at the breakfast area, paid around $90 for so so food. Then hung out by the pool for a few hours. Mind you, we had just gotten off the plane and we’re wearing our regular plane clothes. We went onto sitting in the lobby for an hour more and then when it hit 1pm we went to the front desk and asked to be checked in. To our surprise the employee had no idea what I was talking about. She said they never do check ins at 1pm and had no idea why they would tell me this. I was very frustrated to say the least. I thought that was very weird. More so I’m the other ladies side. But at this time the front desk lady mentioned that I could also use the amenities including showers so I loved that about the hotel. I was able to shower, change, and rest in the AC for another 2 hours until my room was ready.
In the end I would say that bad experience was uncomfortable but the rest of the team made the rest of my stay okay. I would love for the entire team to be on the same page as far as information that is given to the customers. Could avoid a lot of irritated customers.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
