The property itself is beautiful and everything went smoothly at first. However, there were significant issues that impacted our overall experience. We saw multiple roaches in the unit, which was concerning from the start. On our last evening, the unit flooded due to an adjacent rooms problem. We had maintenance in and out for several hours, disrupting our evening. While the issue was eventually addressed, there was no meaningful compensation for the time we were impacted, no move to another unit or urgency to find us another stay. The response felt impersonal and lacking in care, and the only compensation offered was removal of the resort fees, which did not feel proportionate to the disruption. It was disappointing given how much we enjoyed the stay up until that point but the customer service was lacking. Because of these issues, we would not choose to stay here again or recommend this stay.

We were looking forward to our stay here and sadly we were very disappointed. The room was filthy and linens, chairs were actually falling apart. The main bathroom counter, shower and toilet were dirty. The counter was the worst with dirt and used toilet paper on it. The toilet had hair all over. The bed linen was actually so old it was fraying. It amazes me that this could happen at a hotel with this many stars. The 2 beach chairs that were offered were broken and when we went to ask for replacements, the chairs offered were also used and falling apart. I tried 3 times to get the front desk manager or the hotel manager but I never received any response. I did speak to the head house keeper and she was surprised by it all. Honestly, how could anybody think that this was okay?

I’ll start with the good. We loved the property, location, the accommodations, check in, bottle of wine and coffee provided. Unfortunately we had 2 separate incidents that were subpar. First we had some questions that we asked the front desk where we wanted to know if it was possible to take a shower after the check out time (10 am) and the answer was no but you can pay for an additional 1/2 day (for a hefty fee-the room rate for the whole night wasn’t much more) and the front desk wasn’t very nice about it. Then on the day we checked out we had an excursion so we picked up the room and took our bags just in case we were running beyond the 10 am check out. We did not check out at the front desk prior to the excursion. When the excursion ended, we had time so headed back to get a quick shower at 9:10 am and found the cleaning people already in the room stripping the bed. We entered the open door and had to tell the cleaning people that we have this room until 10 and need to shower so they left. I’m so disappointed in the whole experience. Minus these 2 incidences this could have been a 5 star review.

It was a delight to stay there. Everything was perfectly clean and in working order. Having a full kitchen was an extra benefit. Staff was very friendly and polite. We missed having an AC unit, but they were plenty of fans. There were lots of beautiful tropical plants and birds on the property and very nice view of a sunset over the ocean.

I always stay at this hotel whenever I visit Kauai, and this time was no exception. Once again, I had a very satisfying stay. View is great from the cliff and the area of Prineville is absolutely lovely. Spacious unit but desperately needs a remodel. Service is next to zero. No front desk when we arrived in the evening. There is an outsourced concierge who gave poor advice and lead to a last minute cancellation. All in all, great area but don’t stay here.

The property is an older resort that has done many updates. The pool area and grounds are beautiful. Our room was a one bedroom suite that had some new upgrades. Our biggest surprise was that there was no A/C in our room. There were fans provided for air flow, but the unit definitely needs to have A/C.
