"Giuseppe and his little bed and breakfast was a breath of fresh air! I recommend staying in a little town near the “main 3” Lake Como cities. Lierna was a perfect place to stay. "Albergo Sala was a unique experience in the small village of Valbrona. It was quiet and not much to do but that's what we were looking for. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the food was wonderful. The inn is historic and has been in the family for a few hundred years! As it is off the beaten track it is advisable to have a car as public transport is infrequent and challenging and taxi service is quite expensive. Aside from that it was a great place to stay a few days."

"We rented a one bedroom apt on the first floor. It was very comfortable and well equipped. Easy walking distance from train station. Also very close to ferry. Easy to take ferry to Bellagio and transfer to other stops. Breakfast was great. Excellent service. Rooms are located in buildings around but are very close. We ate at Mama Cicicia one night it was delicious. Also tried Osteria on plaza which was great. Lovely couple with local food."
