Marais is a historic district known for stunning medieval-style buildings and a range of communities, cultures, charming bars and cafés. Admire modern and contemporary art in the Musée National d'Art Moderne’s vast collection. Tour the Notre Dame de Paris, a historic Catholic cathedral believed to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture.

Explore the Centre Pompidou, a large high-tech complex housing a public information library, a centre for music and acoustic research and a museum of modern art. Appreciate works by great artists including Matisse and Pablo Picasso at its Musée National d'Art Moderne. With over 100,000 works, this museum has one of the largest collections of modern art in Europe.

Wander through the bustling streets of Marais, the aristocratic district of Paris. Shop in vintage boutiques, relax in rustic taverns and dine in some of Paris’ finest restaurants. Explore the museums, art galleries and theatres. This historic area stretches over parts of the 3rd and 4th Arrondissements. It is filled with culture and considered one of the hippest areas of Paris.

Tour the Notre Dame de Paris, a stunning cathedral in the 4th Arrondissement. See the famous gargoyles at the front of the cathedral. Admire the exquisite statue of Joan of Arc and the beautiful rose windows. Notice carved wooden stalls, statues and stunning religious artwork inside the cathedral. This French Gothic masterpiece was completed in the early 14th century.

Find the Notre Dame de Paris via the Paris RER express train lines or the Paris Metro. Get off at the Cité metro station if using the Paris Metro. Walk from the Notre Dame de Paris to Centre Pompidou in about 15 minutes. The Marais district is also walking distance from both the Notre Dame and the Pompidou.

Begin or end your walk through the lively streets of Marais by climbing the bell tower at the Notre Dame de Paris for spectacular views of Paris from the top.

This hotel is currently under renovation. The room we stayed has very dirty carpet, both shower and sink are clogged. Worst of all, it’s very noisy at night due to the non-stopping traffic.
