"This hotel is a WOW!!!! Looks beautiful, is beautiful. Fabulous Victorian architecture. Weve never stayed before, and I booked due to seeing it has been refurbished, and the reviews are so good. We booked a standard room, it was clean, fresh, quiet. Lots of complimentary extras in the room, which has far exceeded anywhere else we've stayed at. Breakfast fabulous. Would highly recommend . Fabulous!!!!"

"I stay here often, I like the hotel, it is convenient for business meetings etc. I don’t like the holding deposit. I don’t want to buy anything on credit and the deposit takes too long to clear! "

"We where put in a disability room so all the amenities where low down. The shower was slow and we had no full length mirror. I have stayed at the Marriott before and it was nice but I was disappointed "

"Overall, a good stay but there were some things that needed improving. My room cards kept deactivating (and after the first time I kept away from my bank cards) so that was really annoying having to go to and from the reception. One of the cleans, I was left a dirty teaspoon to use for tea and coffee. The gym was good and the staff were friendly though. The room was a good size but the air conditioning was very poor so had to keep the window open"

"Staff were super friendly and helpful, the room was immaculate and nicely done up for valentines day. We had not asked for this, it was something they did a little extra which was really nice. The coffee machine facilities were kept impeccably clean also, everything was wonderfully neat. The hotel itself did look a little dated/ tired, but the service and cleanliness of the room were brilliant. I would stay here again."

"Room was spacious and clean but showing wear and tear from long-term use. Convenient location, within walking distance of city centre and station. Nice tea and coffee selection and comfy bed."

"Looks fantastic however, a little bit of style over substance here. Good in the bar was ok but expensive. The room looked great but few plugs and no USB sockets. The bathroom had a shower from 1982 and a shower curtain from the same decade. Nowhere to put any toiletries and no fan in the bathroom either. Bed was comfy though and the room large enough. Car park was like something of an apocalypse with cars abandoned absolutely anywhere there was even half a space. "
