Ride the cable car to High Camp, an activity centre set on an 8,200-foot (2,499-metre) high peak. Enjoy panoramic views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Swim in a mountaintop swimming pool or relax in a hot tub. Visit the Olympic Museum to see memorabilia and watch video presentations that celebrate the 1960 Winter Olympics.
Follow hiking trails through the colourful alpine meadows of the Granite Chief Wilderness. Rent a bike to explore the family-friendly cycling trails along the Truckee River. Play a round of disc golf, which is a combination of frisbee and miniature golf.
After a busy day of activities, visit the Village at Squaw Valley. Find bars, restaurants and retail outlets situated in Bavarian-style buildings. Reach Olympic Valley by flying to Reno-Tahoe International Airport and then rent a car to get to the town and other areas of Lake Tahoe. Olympic Valley is a short drive from the beaches of Tahoe State Recreation Area, including Hurricane Bay.
