"The room was very good and big. The bathroom was strange in that it had 2 sliding doors 1 on each side. These were quite hard to close as you had to pull on a small recessed catch. Also the bathroom ceiling had obviously been painted but they had left paint drips all over the wall! These room was well appointed with fridge freezer, cooker, microwave and kettle. Only powdered whitener was provided and when my wife asked for a jug of fresh milk at reception was directed to a vending machine where she paid CAD$6 (£3.20) for 500ml. This is the first time we have had to pay for this in any hotel! The thing I disliked the most was the fact that the room was not serviced each day. If hotels want to implement this policy (and it seems more do) then there ought to be a discount for days when your room is not serviced. This has happened in the past in the UK."

"We booked 4 rooms at the Alt Hotel East Village for a wedding weekend. We were impressed with the front desk staff (esp. Hainah) who helped us with some on-the-spot changes we had to make to our schedule. The hotel is nicely designed, though the quality of finishes is not 5-star. The oddest thing is the floors in the rooms squeek, as if you are walking on an elevated floor. We could hear the people above us, so I can only imagine that we kept the people below us awak with our back-and-forthing. Beds were comfortable, amenities were nice, and the location was great. We'd definitely return."
