"My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Blue Lantern Hotel ! We had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the harbor. It was fun to watch all the activity from there. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hands down the best I’ve had at a hotel and the room was beautifully furnished with views of the ocean. The location was easily walkable to a number of restaurants. We would stay again and recommend to friends."

"Honestly our trip was a let down from start to finish. The front desk staff, Carlos, who checked us in was beyond rude. At the time of check in he asked us if we would rather have a room without power or pay for an upgrade. Our room had expired beverages in the mini bar. When we called in room dining they stated they would have to ask if it was okay to not charge us to bring in-expired items. The dining was most disturbing. "The location is great!!"

"Our stay at Best Western Plus Marina Shores in Dana Point was GREAT! The hotel was very well taken care of, our room on the third floor was extremely clean, the breakfast was quite good (many things to choose from) and the staff was amazing!!! Without exception the staff was incredible, all were exceedingly nice and accommodating. We were there for 2 nites for our July anniversary and I don't think things could have gone better. We had a basic king room and we had an unadvertised peek a boo...

"Hot tub was ok"

"The owners are what really make this hotel special. Friendly, helpful, fun, just great people. They love what they do and it shows in every aspect. Beds are very comfortable and my husband and I slept in every morning. Having places to sit outside and enjoy the weather is a huge bonus. The location was also great."

"Facility was very clean"

"Reached out to the staff to get early check in (extra $50) for my two night stay and they told me I can come at 1 PM day of. I show up at 1:15 with the staff not even at the front desk and the door locked. Finally got a hold of someone just for them to tell me they can’t be there and I have to wait until 3 PM to check in despite what I was told the day before. I had a wedding to attend to, so I had to get ready in my car in the parking lot. They came an hour later to which I was already gone....

"Like all Ayres Hotels it's good value for your money. Free self parking. Smaller hotel, only 3 floors. Nice, big inside courtyard with shade cover, tables and fireplace. Good buffet breakfast and happy hour with beer, wine, Coke products, snacks and cookies. If you are noise sensitive, ask for room on 3rd floor so you don't have to listen to people walking around above you. There are a few take out places and grocery store across the street."
