We loved our stay at the West Coast Surf Inn. It is an old school motel in the best way. Clean, comfortable, and no nonsense. The bed was genuinely comfortable, the room was well kept, and the shower had great water pressure. They even had great local coffee in the room with the coffee maker, which was a really nice touch. Bonus points for actual Charmin toilet paper, which says more about a place than people realize. It is affordable, honest, and clearly a family-run place by folks who actually care about your stay. And if you are lucky, Harvey will be around and you can pet him. We would absolutely stay here again.

The West Coast Surf and Stay is such a quaint, nostalgic and beautiful place to stay! The owners, Dave and Anne Marie are genuinely kind and truly care about their clients. The property is built in 1955, retro and old school. The owners are wonderful and keep everything very clean and tidy. Deluxe room had a chair, coffee table and couch in the separate tv room, a little refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker also. The only problem I had was the shower and toilet were not good for my lower body arthritis. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Walkable to many restaurants, close drive to everything else San Clemente has to offer. Great, welcoming little hotel with fantastic owners!
