Exceptional staff at all levels. The front desk team made us feel very welcome.
The room itself, although very pristine and classic, was noisier than anticipated. I would recommend requesting a side not overlooking the tracks as i was kept awake all evening by the train sounds.
Other than that - the property is excellent.

Niwa is a nice oasis in the midst of bustling Tokyo: great location, good restaurants, cool bee-keeping on the property, BUT it's quite dated compared to many other properties I've stayed in on this trip. Tiny rooms, dated bathroom, ancient coffee machine in the room...one can do better for the money.

Breakfast and dinner buffet included, beautiful garden and easy access to bus to rope line and hiking. Lovely outdoor Onsen as well as grand windows overlooking mountains and garden. Relaxing.
