"The bar and restaurant area was beautiful and the only problem was that it was not open when I was there. Breakfast was good. The pools were clean. It is very nice gated community. And a safe environment. I would definitely stay there again."

"Good A/C, nice sized room. Appreciated the "larger" mini frudge and coffee maker in the room. Very helpful woth local resources and advice on best travel routes. Got to see a mother howler monkey nursing her baby in the tree just adjacent to the room. Room walls are concrete, so couldn't hear anything from adjacent rooms. Much more serene atmosphere than the hectic pace and crowds in Nosara and Guiones beach areas. Would definitely stay again. Thank you, Louie for wonderful hospitality."

"We loved this hideaway! Tucked in off a side road, it’s peaceful and relaxing with a gorgeous view of the sunset just a quick walk from the property. Playas Samara and Carrillo are a quick drive in either direction. We were glad to be cloistered among the giant trees at this property instead of close to the chaos of a beach town. The staff were so attentive and kind addressing all our needs. Onsite is a restaurant which was excellent and reasonably priced for lunch or dinner. I would stay...

"Comfortable place. Two beds in the room, that was unexpected. Nice. Staff need to be more attentive when . Serving and at the bar. But free breakfast was very good. Great beach, one of the best I have been in Costa Rica. Affordable. I don’t know if they have any beach chairs, I didn’t asked. There are none available at the beach except for the next door resort which they don’t rent. There are different activities offered by other businesses."

"The Sunset Shack was fantastic for our family trip to Nosara. The beach is super close, and the town is very cute. We were right in the middle of it all. Monkeys in the mango trees on the property in the morning, and iguanas roaming all day. The food, the staff, and the hotel itself were all 5 stars! The place is a 2 min walk to the ocean through a beautiful forest, straight from the property- we were going in and out in swim suits. The beach is fantastic, for surfers especially.
