All the staff were friendly and helpful and catered for a number of special requests. Only issue I had was pillows weren’t very comfortable & the noise of a drill going in room next door just after 9am on day of departure, was a bit of a shock. We Would stay again though. "

"We were initially given a room on the first floor, but on returning after going for a meal, we were asked to move, to a room on the ground floor. After five minutes we were asked to move again to the first floor, next to our original room!. The receptionist was very apologetic. We think the bathroom needs updating, it has a shower over the bath, but no hand rails, so getting in and out, can be difficult, as there is nothing to hold on to."

"This is quite a historic building with links to Henry 8th and the family of Anthony Eden. It’s on the outskirts of Bishop Aukland but a cheap taxi ride into the centre and decent bus routes. The staff are super friendly and the spa linked to the hotel is very good. I sincerely found the place relaxing. If you are visiting the excellent new galleries of Bishop Aukland (especially its Spanish Art Gallery) stay here. "
