Fantastic location and very scenic and peaceful. There is plenty to do within driving distance, 10 mins or so and the food at the hotel was very good and reasonable priced. The spa is a must it’s a great addition to your stay and very relaxing and well worth the money. Highly recommended

Excellent hotel and great value for money

Stayed one night on a visit to the nearby Bowes Museum. We had a very pleasant drink in the hotel bar (famous wall murals) followed by an excellent dinner Our room was comfortable (though I needed to remake the bed - sheets were crumpled and not tucked in). Lovely full breakfast. We're looking forward to our next stay in this great hotel.
