Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We stayed three nights in a row to ski. The hotel staff was friendly and the rooms themselves were clean, but the facilities were very dated throughout. The food is a buffet style with standard items. The meals themselves were very carefully prepared and good. Rental skis and ski lift tickets cannot be purchased without going to Ichinose Family Ski Resort. Also, there is no refrigerator or glasses in the room, so you cannot store or drink beverages purchased outside. The large bathroom is old.

Great for a ski holiday
The hotel offers a great deal if you wnt to stay very central in the Shiga Kogen ski resort. The staff is very accomodating. Not everybody speaks fluent english, but the try their best…
There is a free pool table, communal hot bath (men and women seperate) and ski locker for the use of the guests. Free toiletries can be collected from reception. The rooms are not cleaned (we stayed there for six nights), only upon request. When we entered the room, it was well cleaned though.
The 4p-room was spacious. To our surprise we were not given the room that we booked online (two doubles), but one with four single beds.
The general state of the interior is rather old and tired looking (peeling wallpaper, worn carpet, big tear in the pool table cloth etc etc) but everything does work.
Diner and breakfast (both buffet style) were included for us. It is Japanese oriented - lots of salted fish, clear soup, rice, pickles,
fried chicken etc. Portions in e.g. yoghurt or fruit were very small. Not every dish was restocked if the guest before you had finished it.
Over all, I would say the meals could have benefitted from a little more variety. On a positive note though: you are allowed to BYO (alcoholic) drinks to the diner table…

Dining Limited, food could be hot and more variety
Was short walk to ski lifts but the hotel is very old and run down but clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was poor, even for Japanese standards. The only food options in the whole village at the time we stayed was the convenience store and the ski-lift ramen shop.
