"I loved the restaurant and the environment of the Inn. Very welcoming and cozy. Was a short little drive to the waterfront and town. Nice, comfortable and clean rooms. Very quaint and cozy."
"Nice hotel literally a walk across the street from the train station. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfast had so many choices. Checking in and out was a breeze. The staff was lovely."

"An amazing stay. Staff friendly and welcoming. Delicious freshly cooked food in the restaurant and breakfast. The room was very clean, serviced daily and tea and coffee replenished. Quiet location ideally placed for access to Alnwick and Morpeth. "
"The Dock was fabulous and exactly what I was hoping to achieve for a 1 night stay between my work days. I was gutted as I’d heard so much about the breakfast but I ended up being in such a rush so didn’t have time to have a full English but the lush lady behind the kitchen counter asked me if I wanted a sandwich making to take away. She made me a huge and the best tasting bacon sarnie with a latte to take away (proper fresh brewed coffee) she saved my bacon literally haha. As I didn’t eat again that day until 6pm! I stayed in a single room. My bed was so comfy, whole room and bathroom were immaculate and I had a full range of hot drinks to make and a biscuit selection which was welcome after a busy day. Lady who checked me in was lovely. I had to walk into the pub to check in as I checked in quite late in the night but I was expecting that as I knew what I had booked. I didn’t get to explore Amble but from what I even saw in the dark, the hotel is in a fab location. I even had a little view of what I assume was Amble Dock. Can’t fault the hotel or staff or food at all! 10/10 will definitely stay again"
"Stayed over for a night whilst travelling back from a trip to Scotland. A great B & B which I can’t recommend highly enough. From meeting Susan on arrival where she showed off our room. Whilst cosy, everything was pristine! A comfy bed and great breakfast the next morning topped off a great stay.
Not forgetting the pub attached……where we had our evening meal and probably the best Beef and Ale pie we’ve ever had with great personal service too.
We’d highly recommend the Rose & Thistle and look forwards to staying again when next in the area."
"The property is an 18th century coach house so don’t expect brand new anything, that being said the place is full of character, but the most important part of this inn are the excellent staff, mostly Maureen (Mo) and Gracie. They were superbly professional yet warm and welcoming and made our 2 day stay a pleasure. The food was excellent (well done Becca) with a great choice. The room was spotless and clean as was the bathroom, would definitely go back and probably will. Well done all."
"This is an excellent country hotel, about 1.5 miles down a lane from the main a1, it’s quiet and peaceful and although in need of refurbishment, which it’s getting after November this year, is still extremely nice. The rooms are old fashioned but comfortable and warm ( when you work out how to turn the heating on (why don’t they tell you?)): staff are wonderful and the food is excellent. Breakfast is really good with continental and cooked meals, evening meals are brilliant, they seem a little expensive until compared with neighbouring restaurants after checking, but the variety and quality is really exceptional. Service is good, efficient but not over friendly, and exactly as it should be. The extensive grounds provide the perfect backdrop to this hotel. I highly recommend it, but hope that the alterations and extensions starting this November, don’t spoil the experience. "
