This is a great place to stay for a few nights! Of course, the quality of your stay is often determined by luck-of-the-draw on your hostel mates, but Bovisa Urban Garden has everything else covered! There is a super cute bar/bistro to hang out in, a courtyard, and lots of other restaurants near by.
I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very kind and helpful. Hostel was nice, clean and quiet and it was easy to check-in. I highly recommend this hostel if you’re looking some place to stay while staying in Milan!
Nice property, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. However sleep was difficult because there was music and partying happening in the bar and bistro below so be aware of this, this isnt a complaint though just for people to be aware if you want an early night bring earbuds. Otherwise very good, food was delicious!
Very fresh and comfy as a Hostel. Really smart with the curtain so that you can sleep in privacy and also you can ligt your cabin while others are asleep without waking them up. Friendly staff.
Great place, it's walking distance to Bovisa Politecnico station that serves the Malpsnsa airport. I had a late flight arrival and was able to check in at 3am. I liked that there were loads of extra shower rooms in the communal area so you didn't have to wait if your dorm one was in use.
I enjoyed lunch and dinner at the family run Il Gambero Ristorante Pizzeria located 1 block area- Via Luigi Mercantini, 18, 20158. Great food and cheap price, highly recommended!!
The hostel is located near a tram stop Bausan served by tram 2.
PROS: curtains! at least you have a little privacy in your room. cute outdoor patio/bar. played live music on saturday. i had booked a room with en-suite, but it was nice to see there were three other communal bathrooms with showers (and blow driers) outside the room in case the one in the room was busy, i had options.
CONS: no wifi in rooms, only in patio/bar area. was able to leave my luggage after check out, but they also didn’t verify if i was actually taking mine back when picking up. hopefully no one takes other people’s luggage, but maybe staff can verify?
The bed was so good, a real mattress, each bed has curtains which provides more privacy and comfort, the hostel provides lock for the lockers for free. The bathroom is outside of the room but they have 2 in the floor where we were. They also have a kitchen were you can cook or have a breakfast and they have a restaurant and bar in the backside too.
When we arrived at the hostel was raining heavily, unfortunately in the room there isn't hangers in the wall where to keep jacket or coat, I would suggest to add just in case of rain, in the lockers there is space but is not a good idea to keep wet clothes there.
The bins are outside of the room, each one for specific kind of rubbish, good for recycling.
There is public transport, restaurant and supermarket nearby.
Cool neighbourhood - lots of character. i was only there for one night and it's perfectly adequate - my room mates were quiet as mice and hid the whole time, but you get that. Shower flooding seems to be a recurring theme, m y suggestion would be to put some aside to upgrade as it does get flooded frequently. Can't just be a small group of loco backpackers.
I liked the service and the atmosphere of the place. The interior is really nice! Its just not as social as other hostels (in my opinion). Many people from outside are coming for the bistro and enjoy the nice 6€ Aperol Spritz.
The rooms are nice too.
All in all i liked the hostel and service people very much.
Good stay for the cost of it, but there was concerning mold on the window frame of our room , and at one point the bathroom that corresponded to our room had no TP, an overflowing trash can, and a really dirty wet floor towel.
