"Delightful visit to The George and Dragon! Friendly and obliging staff, great pub, room and breakfast. Rooms renovated to a high standard and beautifully furnished. Loved the windows which could be opened to cool the room and bonus bath to relax in. Friendly bar staff when we had a drink in the pub before bed and lovely lady served us at breakfast. Really impressed and highly recommend a stay. 10/10"

"Rooms were nice and clean but we had an annoying noise coming from an air vent inside a wardrobe that drove us wild, made them aware and they attempted a bodge to cover it up but it still persisted and spoiled our sleep. The only other complaint is when we were dining a family with young children had been eating beside us and the kids had food on the floor, due to the hot weather there were a lot of flies about and they were congrigating around the food on the floor. "This is a hard review to right as it appears staff there work and I hesitate try their best to help maintain “the flogging of a dying horse”. On arrival the car park is pot holed and camera driven parking fine so make sure your reg no in system within 10 mins. It’s obvious the building is deteriorated showing age wear and previous leaks in ceilings. Surprisingly room was ok , clean sheets , towels, hot water etc but again no real comfort. Breakfast was buffet but quality , care & presentation...

"A grand hotel in the countryside, it's a shame the state it's in now. The carpet is worn out in place's, the game's room is a complete mess and the hotel smells damp & musty. The dining room is grand and well maintained, the food is pretty good. The staff are friendly and helpful."

"We recently stayed at this lovely cottage in Carlisle with my two children and had an amazing time. The place was spotless, cosy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cottage had a lovely big garden with beautiful views, and there were some great walks nearby which we all enjoyed. The host was welcoming and made sure everything was just right. We would definitely love to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!"
