A nice stay. Staff were really helpful; particularly accommodating food allergies. Pets were welcome in the pub itself as well as the room that had been booked. Nice little added extras like dog treats in the room and dog beds provided. Breakfast was nice too - hot options + selection of cereals and toast.

All good, nice clean room, good selection of beers and wine, decent area outside if weather permits, and a very enjoyable meal in the evening. The village itself is very quiet, but would certainly recommend if looking for an overnight stay to break up a journey north or south.

Lovely Inn in a quiet village. Our stay was even quieter due to the Horse Fair in Appleby meaning the Inn was only open to residents. The inn clearly loves having dogs to stay so if you don’t like that, think carefully. Food was well prepared and the homemade steak pie was definitely on the large side! Bedroom was comfortable with all modern facilities.
