Very impressive castle with ample parking and 3 EV charging points.
Lovely staff.
The lounge/ bar area was spacious, but the furnishings are tired and jaded.
The dining room is beautifully presented, crisp white linen and sparkling cutlery and glassware .
Breakfast was excellent, evening meals were a little disappointing.
Most guests will have a room in the Castle View buildings which are separate from the castle.
Room was a good size, although the furniture had seen better days, but with the advantage of working air conditioning. The bathroom was spotless.
However, the mattress was uncomfortable and unfortunately we experienced a fire alarm at 03.36, no explanation and no protocol observed.
Really excellent for a short break in this interesting area. Lovely situation, restored castle with a great history ( free guided tour recommend). Best things: lovely committed staff, friendly and efficient. Good food, especially formal dinner and super breakfast. Highly recommend
Great setting and attentive staff. We had a great stay and the only minor issue (hot water) was fixed fairly promptly. Excellent location for Housesteads and other Hadrian’s Wall sites.
Its a lovely little castle. The tour is wonderful. Staff and service were very very good.
The menu was limited and even steak/veg/ attracted an extra charge. The veg on the menu was limited to various potatoes and tenderstem brocolli or green salad.
The food we had was beautifully cooked and presented.
We booked a last minute one night getaway to Langley Castle and the whole experience was perfect. Every member of staff was friendly and kind without being too attentive / disturbing us. The room was lovely with lots of little added touches. The hotel is very dog friendly and our Shiba had a lovely time! The castle is impressive and the woodlands around it are very pretty. The Castle View room was a good size with a lovely set of high back chairs beside a table - perfect for playing cards! The drawing room and bar area is very unique within the castle and dogs can come in to that space. Finally the evening meal and breakfast in the dining room were delicious!

We had an absolutely lovely stay at The Langley Castle! The staff is fabulous, we definitely recommend taking the tour.
Dinner was a work of art, the duck confit was unbelievably delicious. Breakfast was very tasty.
The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The Derwentwater Suite was a gem.
Highly recommend this property and we will want to visit again!
We had amazing time we loved the room especially how comfortable the bed was, best sleep I’ve had in a while and the room was immaculate. Really enjoyed the food it was delicious are belly’s was filled with joy.
We have really enjoyed are stay this was for my boyfriend birthday definitely come back again.
From turning up the driveway to the moment we left we felt like special guests who were staying in an historic English castle.
The key aspect of this stay was that you are staying in a castle steeped in English and Scottish history. It has been adapted in keep with historic guidance to make it a 4 star hotel and so there are interesting rooms, nooks and cranny’s which make it a unique and exciting place to spend some special time with family.
All the staff are very tentative and eager to please. The rooms open to all guests are elegant and there was ample seating and the rooms were all lovely and warm.
Our room, The Cadwallader Room, was majestic and beautiful. Access was via the original spiral staircase which may be a challenge to anyone with mobility issues. This would also be the case for a few of the other rooms so check in advance if you have concerns.
Beautiful grounds with peacocks and lovely paths to stroll around.
Ample parking.
We had breakfast which was table service. Lovey full English and eggs Benedict. Other people had continental breakfast’s which also looked delicious.
Great location to explore Hadrians Wall and other local historic sights.
They give you a free Langley castle history tour each morning at 1015am which I would recommend as it’s nice and light hearted giving you a glimpse into the history the castle has witnessed up to the current day.
I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants to have a relaxed time where you are spolit.
Hotel was absolutely amazing and the staff couldn’t do enough for you, our room (26) was perfect, balcony that looked out onto the castle and the music in the drawing room made a perfect castle atmosphere, breakfast was lovely and the staff even do a guided tour of the place with history information and even a video when you get onto the castle roof, would definitely stay again.
