Perfect stopover

Returning from Edinburgh and needed an overnight on way back. Lovely room and great breakfast. We had an evening meal which was delicious and wouldn't hesitate on staying again.

Highly recommended stay

Such an amazing welcome at this beautiful Gastro Pub. All of the team were so eager to please in this idyllic country pub, which is ideally placed between Malton and the coast.

Friendly stay in a great location

Karl and Julia were very warm and welcoming. It felt like a home away from home. The Dom Perignon room was very spacious and the hot tub was excellent. Weaverthorpe was a great location to have access to the Yorkshire Moors but also the coast at Whitby too.

Perfect stop over night.

This place is a little gem. The food in the evenings and the breakfast is first class. If we lived local we would definitely return for a meal. We stayed in the smallest accommodation they have available which has the worst reviews and whilst the room could do with a little TLC the overal experience of the accommodation and stay was excellent for the price paid.

Bluebell inn

As we were only passing through we stayed just the one night. Had to go to the inn next door for a drink and a meal as the bluebell inn closed for food and drinks at 4pm. Breakfast was lovely, staff very friendly and we would definitely stay there again.

Next time in the area, this a must.

Excellent food , rooms and service. Maybe slightly higher price but great value. We had Lamb Shank was one of best we had ever had. Pauline who looked after us was pleasant, friendly and effecient as was her daughter and made us feel that we had been before.

Friendly.

Friendly owner. Rural, pretty and friendly area. Restaurant closed on Mondays so can’t review for main food but breakfast was lovely. Room small but comfortable. Wish I had gone on a day when it was fully open to be able to see it at its best.

Anniversary break.

Lovely short break for our wedding anniversary. Friendly and accommodating staff, nothing too much trouble. Food good, both at breakfast and in the evening and the real ale was well kept. Our accommodation, the Bollinger champagne room, was in a separate building to the pub and well furnished. Lovely area to stay in with plenty to see and do in the area. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.

A Quiet, Welcoming Country Inn, near Malton

We had a very enjoyable stay. The staff and owners made us feel very welcome and there was a friendly, communicative atmosphere that included guests and locals. Our accommodation was in a separate annexe with its own parking, so there was no conflict with the pub business and it gave us access to an excellent pub-restaurant menu and beers. Some of the pub decor is a bit dated and there is a champagne theme (many posters and empty bottles) in the rooms and public areas that can be a bit overwhelming, but we would be happy to stay there again when in the area.

Expensive stay

We found everything to be expensive. The room was very small with only a sky light . It was very warm we had to sleep with the door propped open to get any air. The food was nice but very expensive in comparison with other places we have stayed.

Paula is great let down by large damp patches on the chimney breast in the room broken toilet seat ,you cant fill the kettle in the sink, room doors scratched and need painting noise from the bar and snoring from my neighbour through the wall sorry to say glad to leave

Free car parkimg wifi ok Room very small, shower needed cleaning,doors needed washing down, carpets tired, bed very soft , door to bathroom caught on the end of the bed, window very small and high up so poorly ventillated. No USB sockets , extension lead hanging from TV and holes in the wall where previousl fixings had been. More like a truckers stop than an inn.will not be returning and woukd question reviews stating spotlessly clean. Such a shame as location fine. Excellent reasonably priced pub in the same village

Lovely place to stay. Couldn’t fault that or the service. The hosts are truly a credit. Warning to anyone booking via this site though. We booked a room for 2 adults and a child plus 1 dog. We ended up having to pay more at the hotel as they said it hadn’t come through on their system and added the extra on for the child’s place and our dog. Just a heads up really. I could have challenged this with either the owners or hotels.com but I didn’t want to spoil the break for our family but this issue needs to be addressed by both parties.

Had a really nice overnight stay at The Blue Bell Inn, Weaverthorpe. Stayed in the annexe (cottage). Very spacious room. Huge fitted wardrobe. King size bed. Extremely clean and comfortable bed. Beautiful en suite. Good hospitality tray with selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate etc. overlooked village green. Lovely, quiet farming village. Had dinner in restaurant. Chef cooked. Excellent choice and presentation. Delightful young waitress Great breakfast with super menu. Spoilt for choice. Waitress served. Attentive. Plenty of tea/coffee. Table cloth and fresh flowers 👍 Would return. Highly recommend. Would have liked to have seen the lanterns and fairy lights lit across the front of the pub at night, as I am sure it would look very pretty, given its setting on the village green -and more inviting/welcoming to guests. A torch for getting to our annexe property was required. Also brackets for hanging baskets but no floral displays. Those finishing touches would have enhanced the place so much.
