"Carpeting in room dirty. Good range of places to eat nearby. Breakfast choices reduced from a few years ago. Staff very helpful and friendly. Overall not as good a value as before. When on offer price is ok but not at full price."

Very lovely location, the grounds are extensive and must take a lot of time to maintain, so the dry summer meant it looked a little below par. The room was satisfactory, although a leaking shower head, non-functioning TMV's on the sinks and mis-programmed TV remote, though not big issues in themselves, created a sense of a lack of attention to detail. "Interesting and beautiful hotel set in lovely parkland and gardens. Good food in the brasserie and useful to know that one of the three restaurants is open each day. Plenty of parking and an hour from Calais so an excellent stopover."

"There were no cups/ mugs plates to use at breakfast. When I notified the front desk the lady said she would get some we waiting half an hour an nothing she came to get the dirty dishes we ended up using napkins as plates lucky we had a reusable bottle that we could use which meant we had to share towards the end of us having breakfast the lady did come out with some paper cups."
