The hotel was good and the staff was great, from reception to guest services, the concierge and dining everyone was helpful, very friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with treats upon arrival and departure, which was a nice touch. A special recognition goes to Lucia, Santiago and Antonio for helping us book a train ride to Barcelona and plan activities.
Now, for the cons. My main reason for giving this hotel a 4 was because we were extremely dissatisfied with the housekeeping services. We were there for a two week stay, yet housekeeping did not bother to change our bed linens at all. This was after we asked both verbally and in writing (in Spanish) on three separate occasions for them to change our bedding. While I understand the importance of being eco-friendly, a guest’s request for a change of linens should be accommodated especially during an extended stay. In fact, on one occasion after our room was “cleaned” we returned to dust and hair on the floor and subsequently had to ask the employee servicing our room on the next day to please vacuum. This should be standard, not a special request. The last few days of our trip we didn’t even bother with housekeeping because their work was subpar. I exclusively stay at five star hotels for the quality of service they offer on all fronts. Irregardless, we still left a tip each time our room was “serviced.” Unfortunately, from the perspective of housekeeping, the VP ESPAÑA fell short given my experience.
