The room is standard but as expected. It is an older building so the fixtures aren't as modern and there is some noise leakage from the corridor and other rooms. The woman at the front desk does not speak English but that was not a problem now that we have translation apps. The location is convenient and away from the busy tourist spots. It felt more local with many food and grocery options nearby.

Everything is perfectly close but not as noisy & busy as Gran Via could be. Awesome cafeterias (coffee-shops) and bars, alike! Theater is near and, also Impressive Church painted by Barroque Master (Goya used to attend mass there just to look at the ceiling ;-) Love itā€¦ Will be back for sure!!!!

I enjoyed my stays at this hostal because the room was very clean and it has a private bathroom. The place were the property is located is very quiet so you can have a good sleep. The property also is very close to restaurants, to the Grand Via, the Plaza Mayor.

Very nice staff! Room was great, including having a sink in it. Spacious for a single room. I liked having a desk and chair so I could work. GREAT location - out of the noise and chaos of the main plazas, but very convenient and good neighborhood.

We loved staying here as it was perfectly located in the middle of everything. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was in good shape. However, the shared bathrooms were quite small and uncomfortable to use. If you spend a lot of time in there, would be best to go for the private bathroom option. Thank you for our stay :)

The Stay: The hostel is located on the 2nd floor of a building in an absolute perfect location. Itā€™s a bit older, but the staff keeps it very clean, and the price is great for the area. The Catch: Because it's a shared building, we had a bit of a rough time with odors. Neighbors elsewhere in the building were cooking something very strong, and the smell vented directly into our room. It was quite overwhelming at times. Bottom Line: If youā€™re looking for a clean, affordable spot in the heart of the city, this is it, just bring some room spray in case the neighbors are busy in their kitchen!

Easy to check in, shared bathrooms were always very clean, within walking distance to train station/major attractions/grocery stores, safe, great wifi The only downside (which is a no fault of the property) is the building is quite loud, always people coming and going at all hours in the hostel that can be heard clearly or doors being slammed in the courtyard

Basic, bed to be improved but manageable for a day

Great location, the check in process was smooth and easy. The room itself was basic and warm though the bed was a very small (I am 6"2 / 188cm) and I didnt fit well. Also, the bed was shacking every time I moved in bed. Overall basic and ok for the price and a night.

Good location, short walk from Gran Via, street was reasonably quiet at night. Room was adequately sized for 2 beds, bathroom/WC could be a challenge for bigger persons. Good cleanliness, daily cleaning. Shower next door/water was clearly audible. Good WiFi, bed comfortable although mattress is easily movable as loosely set on bed frame. TV was very small with local stations only. AC was fine.

I stayed here for 2 nights in June 2026. The room was very basic but clean. It is quite conveniently located and is about 15 minutes walk to the palace. It was relatively quiet at night but bear in mind that it is an old building so may not have adequate sound insulation for some people.

The individual at the reception desk on the day of my arrival did not have the best customer service skills. I had learned some basic Spanish words before my trip, but when she started speaking in long sentences, I struggled to understand her. I politely tried my best to explain in Spanish that I do not speak the language. However, she raised her voice while asking, ā€œWhat is your name?ā€ Her voice sounded upset and irritated, which made me feel shocked and uncomfortable. According to the hotelā€™s Expedia profile, the staff is multilingual, so I expected them to accommodate guests who do not speak Spanish. The staff members during my subsequent stays were much friendlier, though.

It's an hostel and all that implies. If you are in the 6ft range the beds are on the small size, plus very basic. Including the bedding. It was very central, and you can walk to just about everything. But it is a hostel.
