"We had bad impression since we arrived. We choose this hotel because they saud they have shuttle bus. So when we arrive at train station, we actually called them to ask them to pick us up caz 2 of us had 3 luggages. The person who picked up the phone refused and said he could not come to pick up as he was the reception and cannot leave the hotel. And said we could walk to hotel only 400 m. So we walked up and the road is on the way up to the hill for the whole 400 m. Can you imagin 2 small...

"Very clean. There is a nice little restaurant downstairs. The staff was most helpful. While there wasn't air conditioning in the rooms, it still remained relatively cool in the rooms, despite the heat outside. My only complaint is that I reserved a room for three days. I changed plans almost immediately and cancelled one of the rooms less than 24 hours later. The hotel said they would only charge me for the two days, but changed their mind and charged me for all three."

This might be ok for a normal hotel but when the hotel is in the middle of a mountain, only accessible by a 2.5 hour hike (or a tiny train that is on strike - it’s France after all) then it is simply unacceptable to let your guests arrive at the door tired, hungry & thirsty to see a sign that says ‘sorry we’re closed, we tried to contact you’. "We were pleasantly surprised to see the bus from Chamonix stop right in front of the hotel. The manager who checked us in was knowledgeable, helpful and kind. The price for the breakfast buffet was the most reasonable of our trip, and while we did not have dinner in the restaurant, it did smell good and was busy. There is a market nearby and the main part of town is just a 20 minute walk away, where the official start of the TMB, the Tour du Mont Blanc is. The staff was accommodating and...
