Best Western Plus Marina Shores Hotel

"Our stay at Best Western Plus Marina Shores in Dana Point was GREAT! The hotel was very well taken care of, our room on the third floor was extremely clean, the breakfast was quite good (many things to choose from) and the staff was amazing!!! Without exception the staff was incredible, all were exceedingly nice and accommodating. We were there for 2 nites for our July anniversary and I don't think things could have gone better. We had a basic king room and we had an unadvertised peek a boo view of the ocean! It was pretty warm outside and our room ac kept us very comfortable. We easily walked to the Dana Point Harbor and to Doheny Beach as well as to a few restaurants. All good! We're quite happy! Lovely stay!"

"My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Blue Lantern Hotel ! We had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the harbor. It was fun to watch all the activity from there. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hands down the best I’ve had at a hotel and the room was beautifully furnished with views of the ocean. The location was easily walkable to a number of restaurants. We would stay again and recommend to friends."

"Great location. Clean room. Staff were very accommodating. The only drawback were the pullout sofa beds. You could feel every spring in the mattress. We had 2 rooms and both mattresses were the same. The bedroom mattresses were great! I mentioned to front desk about mattresses and she said that they get a lot of complaints about that and they are working on replacing them. That would be my only reason for not returning, if pullout was needed."

"My room had everything I needed to enjoy my three night stay. There was a generously sized mini fridge and a microwave in the room. There were drawers to put my clothes in. There was a desk with plugs on top to work. There was a very nice shower with good water pressure. All of the valet staff, especially CJ and Jon, were very helpful. I wanted to let the front desk staff know that there are no more bike rentals next to Doha Café across the street. A couple of employees at the hotel seemed to think it was still there. Just FYI. I was a little sad that when I first walked in the hotel, there was a male bartender behind the bar on the ground floor. I smiled at him, and he responded with “we’re closed.” I thought it would be more hospitable to reply with “good evening” especially since I had been in the hotel a few seconds. I clarified with him that I was just smiling at him and I did not want anything from him. The rooftop restaurant and bar are special with a gracious server, I did not eat or drink anything, but I looked at the menu and the prices seemed reasonable and it’s a lovely space with a fire pit and little café tables with a view of the ocean beyond the trees at Doheny State Park. There was a strong mechanical buzzing sound with a vibration coming from my bathroom area the entire time. It low key disrupted my nervous system. I don’t recommend 349 if that kind of noise bothers you. Overall, I recommend this hotel. It had everything for a comfortable stay."
