Gem of a place

Staff all very friendly, the free parking can’t be beat! Private beach with chairs and umbrellas is excellent. Having a full kitchen is also a plus in an area where eating out is so expensive.

The hotel and grounds are amazing. Its proximity to the shore is determined by the room you choose. We chose a less expensive room, however, due to a mix-up, we were provided with a wonderfully large room overlooking the ocean. I was impressed with the kindness shown by the staff and the amenities provided.

Location, location, location … Not many hotels where you can stay on the beach, private with beach crew to set up your chairs and umbrellas, but this has it. Old world charm with modern amenities. It’s like being transported miles away.

My 15 year old son and I loved our stay here! The property is great - best beachfront access in La Jolla, plenty of beach space and food options onsite, and easy in and out. The amenities of the short golf courses, tennis, pickleball, cornhole, and more were a hit. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were super comfy. The only thing to be aware of is that the rooms aren't luxury - though they make for a perfect stay at the beach with family!

So many amenities! My family packed our day with walks on the beach, golf, pickleball, tennis and corn hole. We didn’t make it into the pool, but it looked amazing as well. Would definitely stay here again.

This property is an oldie but a goodie. It's location is absolutely fantastic! The grounds are gorgeous. The pool and tennis courts were lovely. Our room was dated but clean. We traveled there off season so the full amenities were not available but it also less crowded.

Spacious apartment with a magnificent oceanfront view. The beach is cleaned of seaweed daily making it pristine. The beach equipment that is set up by the beach staff is comfortable, beach towels are plenty, allowing for a relaxing beach holiday.

Standard in excellence!

As usual, the trip was epic! Thank you to the entire staff, beach services, reservations; Anna, Meghan, and Jessica! We asked for a Keurig coffee machine, which was not available. Monty went out of his way and purchased one for us. We definitely were not expecting that. We spend our summer vacations there and to us, the LBTC is home away from home. The bonfire by the beach and s'mores are the kids’ favorites. We will be applying for membership soon.

Beachfront

Beautiful view of the ocean and on the beach. The 2 bedroom 2 bathroom room was nice .The carpet was worn but clean. The restaurant was over priced but good. If you park on the street there is street cleaning days that will give you a ticket if parked there in the morning. The signs were hard to see at night because they were old and the words on the sign were worn. Luckily I was able to move it before I got a ticket. The lady at the front desk said we could park there but didn’t mention the street cleaning days. Overall the place was really nice. We would go again.
