Great location. Was able to walk to a festival we were attending at waterfront Park. Safe, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Only negative thing was that my boyfriend and I booked a shared queen bed and when we got there, we were told it was not available so we had to bunk in separate beds. When we called the owner, she gave us attitude and offered to cancel our reservation if we werenโ€™t happy. Could definitely use some customer service skills. However, the staff at the desk were very nice.

I just got back from staying in hostels all over Europe for a couple months. This is nicer than most places Iโ€™ve stayed. Itโ€™s super quiet. Large fan provides great white noice. Staff is lovely. Great communal space.

Would have gotten a better review if my check in process went smoothly. I let the agent know ahead of time that I will be checking in after midnight since Iโ€™m driving all the way from Fresno. She assured me that it was fine and she will take note for the staff. I get there and the office was closed, did not email me the code and the check in details like she said she would. I was there waiting for 30 minutes, ringging the door bell nonstop and calling the phone. This is my first time staying at a hostel so to have an experience like this is disappointing. The manager came finally, after talking to the other tenants outside I guess he heard us talking. He at least acted somewhat professionally. The place is not bad, the bed is soft, the blanket had some type of smell idk if its unwashed. If you are in the navy, this is somewhat close to the berthing expect it is larger that what you are used to. I just came back from deployment on the ship so to me its spacious not a 5 star hotel obviously but its not bad for the price.

This has to be one of the worst Hostel I have stayed in. The place itself is very hot. No AC or fans inside where people sleep, it doesnโ€™t even have window. It feels like a oven, I have no idea how anyone can sleep comfortably in that type of temperature. It is dirty, smells disgusting and a lot on the people staying there live in that hostel.

Everyone was fantastic when we got there. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, however the quality of our company left us feeling unwelcome toward the end. This was not the Hostels fault as far as I can tell, it was just unfortunate circumstances about what was being watched on the communal TV. If you're okay with paying a little too much for pod-style accommodations where you may make some friends, by all means. However if you're looking for more privacy or, in our case, members of the LGBT community you may want to look elsewhere. We are two trans women and it was a little less than ideal.

Great place to stay for a quick, cheap trip. Everybody in the hostel is super nice and respectful, while also doing their own thing so its pretty quiet. The interior was SUPER clean, the staff does a great job making sure of that. Overall, great experience, and would love to stay with PodShare in the future!

One of the Top 3 Hostels in San Diego!

Was just in town for the night on a gig contract and have stayed at Podshare several times in the last few years. Steven & his staff do a great job managing the place plus I'm glad to see that ownership allowed them to put up a "Clean your dishes" sign!

Podshare and Friends

Excellent PodShare location. Staff is friendly and helpful! They offer day pass use for both the common area and the lockers in the lobby. There are a couple long term guests and some who are overnight only. Exactly what I would expect!

Loved it except for the bedbugs

The place was clean and staff and other residents were super friendly. I liked my pod and having AC and an ice machine were major bonuses. The only downside was there were major bedbugs. In all fairness, as soon as it was reported they did a heat treatment so I wouldn't be carrying them off with me anywhere.
