Accessible from Kyoto Station, with about 8mins walk. Opposite the hotel is a teppan izakaya style restaurant, which the hotel is able to make the reservation for us in advance. The restaurant is excellent! Room is clean and spacious, ideal for young families. The staffs were all friendly. On check out day, I forgot that I left my passport in the hotel room safe, they were able to retrieve it and safekeep it till I am there to get it back.

The Hotel rooms are Ok , not much space but ok. The dining facilities are limited, one evening we arrived at the hotel and requested a table and were informed they were expecting a large group from outside and they could not provide neither a table nor room service. Strange they give preference to outside groups than to their guest. Staff to to friendly or helpful on this, we asked if they could inform us of nearby restaurants and they said they could not recomend any.

Mercury Kyoto is brand new and very modern. You can enter from the Main Street via the restaurant or in the “alley” (these are streets in Kyoto) in the back. There is no sign for the hotel on the main street. Overall excellent except for the west facing room I had was simply baking once the sun hits the window. The climate controls cannot keep up, so it was much too hot to get good night sleep (this is in Mach!) for two of the 3 nights of my stay (had one rainy day). I expressed my concerns politely to the staff and the concern was escalated to management - who brushed it aside (manager was not Japanese). All of my other hotels for this Japan trip have also curiously had west facing rooms with clear view of the sun during the afternoon to evening. None had this same problem and were quite comfortable.

I really enjoyed my stay at Mercure! The service was top-notch; the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and meet my needs. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable. Not to mention, the interior design was aesthetically pleasing, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this hotel for the overall quality of its service and amenities.

This was the nicest hotel I’ve stayed at while in Kyoto for room size and modern touches. I did find it a bit far from the station for having station in the hotels name, however I’d still recommend this accommodation. Staff was very helpful

The hotel is new and very well appointed. The room was spacious and comfortable. USB Charging points and electric outlets were thoughtfully placed. The amenities provided were outstanding. A special mention for the interior decoration of the hotel, which was outstanding. All in all a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Exceptionally clean. Staff were also very helpful and friendly.

The interior dull & dark . Very difficult to find as its entrance on the main road was camouflaged by a resturant with hidden glass doors . The main entrance was on the backstreet ! The room was fine , nothing to write home about The location brilliant, walking distance from the train station with few landmarks close by

Good location for average stay
Location was good in that it was quite central, albeit, down a smaller lane, but was quiet, so an advantage. Check in was average and seemed to be short staffed and didn't have anyone to help with luggage. The rest of the time, staff were helpful. Accommodation was quite good, but pillows were not that either hard or soft.

The location for public transport was good. The decor was modern and with a twist of Japanese. The breakfast choices were very basic. Food options and times the kitchen was open were limited.

Fantastic place! Google states 3 stars but it is more like 5 stars. The restaurant attached has a great menu, and excellent service. The hotel itself is modern, clean and very well designed/decorated. The only downside was paying a 3000yen fee to 'dispose' of a perfectly good suitcase - I purchased a new case during the trip and stated to reception they could give the original (and perfectly clean/functioning samsonite case) to whoever they wanted or throw it in the bin - Should have kept my mouth shut when checking out as it ended up costing me 3000yen for disposal.

Sleek, modern hotel with a very artistic flair. Easily accessible from Kyoto Station(7 minute walk). The bar/restaurant was never too busy, however, the Italian cuisine was so so. Not recommended if you’re looking for a traditional fare. The room we had was fairly spacious and the king bed comfortable. Our room did not have a clear window, as the buildings are close together on the sides. There was a opaque film on it. So things were a bit dark at times. Overall, it’s worth returning for the comfort and accessibility from the train station.

The decor of the room was a little strange. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special. The hotel is hard to find as the main entrance is on a small back street. Location is good, but not as close to the train station as advertised. Overall, a bit expensive for what you get.

Clean and convenient, with great breakfast buffet and other dining options. Main problem was that it only had 2 single beds when we clearly booked for 3 people. We had to pay extra for a sofa bed. Why do they say a room can accommodate 3, when in truth only 2 peploe can sleep on 2 single beds?

This hotel is brand-new and the most aesthetically designed hotel we stayed at during our Japan trip. It is quite close to the Kyoto Station (5-6 min walk) do going to the tourist spots was super easy. There are lots of dining options but we ate mostly at the Kyoto Station because it was close and had tons of great, cheap restaurants. The staff was great and helpful especially with our luggage transfer to Tokyo. The only downside is that they are quite stingy with their amenities. They barely replaced our toothbrushes, towels, etc. and gave us only for 2 when I specified there are 3 of us in the room. I had to ask extra amenities for my teenage daughter every time. But the staff was always accommodating so it’s ok. We booked the room with king-sized bed as it was the only one available that’s good for 3 people but the bed was large so it worked. The 3 of us are tiny though so I suggest booking the 3-bed suite if you are a party of 3.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while exploring Kyoto. Was a really nice place with good facilities and spacious. It was in a quieter area with not too much around but we had a fantastic stay.

The hotel was nice overall. Unfortunately, our suite was located right next to the elevator and all the other guests coming and going throughout all hours were loud coming off the elevator. It woke us up multiple times every night and kept us up.

Very nice hotel, not far from Kyoto Station
Very good hotel with exceptional breakfast buffet. Nice and big rooms (for Japanese standard), clean, nice shower head in the bathroom and nice view from Premier rooms located on top floors. From some rooms you can even see Kyoto Tower. Overall, during our 11 nights stay we couldn't found any flaws.

Great hotel, biggest rooms and most comfortable beds we’ve had in Japan. The breakfast buffet is okay, good enough value for money but let down in a few areas (the food is barely warm rather than hot, and the toaster was slow and only one person could use it at a time).

The hotel, room, breakfast, staff & general condition were excellent. Our only negative was that the hotel bar closed at 9.30pm, pity as it was a really nice bar.
