Daily housekeeping (if you want), staff were always very friendly & said hi everytime we walked past. They are bungalow vibes so there are some chipped parts of the walls from outside to in but we had no issues with it and it was very minor. The atmosphere there was amazing & even just walking throughout the resort was beautiful for the 10 days we stayed. There are dogs that roam on the property (which we absolutely LOVE) but something to keep in mind if you’re scared of dogs. However, they don’t really bother you at all unless invited, but they’re very friendly

We loved staying here by the mountain and nature all around. The hotel provided a free shuttle service to the beach on a schedule timetable which was amazing. The staff were also so nice, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Tucked away surrounded by the jungle and cliffs. Absolutely stunning, staff were very helpful with arranging travel. Shopping/food a little far of a walk, but nothing a taxi can’t do.

This place was basic and simple and amazing for the price. The staff were incredible. It's walkable to a greta pizza place and is super safe. It's not a 5 star place but it's five stars for what it is.

The property is a little bit remote from ao nang, also uphill but you literally get a villa in between the mountains with an amazing pool for a very cheap price! It was definitely a win for us

I loved my 3 night stay at The Vatika! The views were stunning, the staff were very friendly and kind, and location is great too. I had my motorcycle so it was easy for me to get around, but they do provide a shuttle service too, as it is tucked away in nature (which I love.) I stayed in the fan bungalow and it was clean and cosy with a good shower and bed. I look forward to staying here again sometime, thank you lovely staff at The Vatika! 😍

Overall my stay was good - The staff were all incredibly welcoming and accommodating (particularly Sian the bartender, he is amazing!) however there certainly do need to be some changes and upgrades, particularly in the bathrooms. The restroom in my room was fine, but twice ants we found around the sink. When I informed staff, they showed up, cleaned thoroughly and sprayed for them (both times), however I think this could be fixed with slightly better maintenance around the rooms in between guests.

Bugs

Turned up staff were really friendly however the room had a massive lizard in as soon as the door was opened. Not a massive deal but the mattress is on the floor. Then sitting on the bed notice a cockroach running around and then another. Due to this felt really uneasy staying there as they can make you extremely ill. We ended up booking an alternative hotel and leaving 2 hours after checking in. Not offered a change of room or refund. Whilst I understand this hotel is more of a jungle outdoorsy vibe, the holes in the floors of the bungalow made it so easy for things to get inside. I do think they need a bit of TLC so bugs don’t get in the rooms.

Room disgusting. No ammenties. Evrrytging shuts at 3pm. Pool in shade. My mum tripped on the steps in the dsrk and rain. They failed to put secutiry lights on. False advertising. Health and safety concerns. One member of staff was the nost unhelpful nasty person i had seen. I had to move next day

Okay for the price

Property is dated and could use a face lift. Pool is not very big and can be crowded depending on number of guests present. There is a shuttle to downtown which operates until 6 PM. Breakfast was fine but nothing special.

Avoid this resort! We chose deluxe bungalow but wasn't nothing deluxe. Last time the room was painted I think 10 years ago, everything inside is very very old, isn't closer to any amenities, the staff didn't speak English, I requested my money back but didn't want to do that.

Bad stay

Well, it's VERY pretty. The area is very nice. The rooms had a/c that didn't quite get cold enough for me. They should install fans or something because it was always HOT. The refrigerator did not work and my water was warm and the ice cream I bought from a convenience store melted. The beds are super hard to sleep on and not comfortable at all, so I did not feel rested. I think sleep comfort should be the first concern of a hotel. The laundry racility was right at the entrance next to the check in desk and the cleaning ladies were loud and always fighting. The shower's drain did not work so there was a puddle of water everytime I showered and the windows were severely dirty. There was some wild animals living in the ceiling, I saw a hole on the side of the bungalow for the animals to use. The wifi is awful. I needed wifi to do homework and anywhere I went on premises it did not work. I was very disappointed in this place.

The bed was a mattress on the floor that took up pretty much the entire room. The front desk arranged for a 4 island snorkeling trip that allowed a 15 minute stop where there was no colored coral and very few fish which was disappointing. In fact, I’m coming back to Thailand in July and the day trip the hotel had sold me has been the deciding factor in me finding a different town lest alone hotel to visit, but It was clean and quiet.
