"From we arrived you could the quality of The Sands, it's beautifully laid out with manicured lawns, water features and a large fish pond. We had a swim up room which was large, clean and very comfortable, the only downside of the room was that the terrace was in the shade for the majority of the day, if you want one of these rooms request one that has sun most of the day. The site is almost split in two with quieter side that had an adult only pool and family pool with bar, then the other side has a mini water park for the kids with a number slides, fun water play and a lazy river. At breakfast there's a great choice catering to all nationalities and tastes, we didn't eat at the hotel at night but speaking to people who had it sounded very good. The staff are fantastic, always polite and friendly, nothing is to much trouble. Whether you want a family holiday, with plenty to entertain the kids, or a restful time from work or touring Thailand then The Sands is a great choice "

"This hotel is a very nice resort hotel. Very big! You must know you will walk a whole lot in the hotel. I had a twisted ankle and had to use their free shuttle service a lot so that’s a huge plus. The food is great and staff is too. Would recommend to anyone that wants that resort vacation you won’t have to leave your hotel much from. Also Phang Na is a very calm town. If you’re looking to escape the crowds definitely book this hotel. "

"The hotel is fine. It is rather authentic and the pool is fine. The staff are also sweet and smily. Overall the breakfast is nice, but it lacks some newthinking from day to day. Also my experience of getting them to call a taxi for me was rather bad. The two times I asked them to call a taxi, the price was over double in comparison to one from Bolt. You cannot help to wonder, if this is just a way of squeezing more money out of the customers. The hotel is also placed in a rather unwelcome neighborhood. All in all it was okay. I don’t regret going there. "

"I was so disappointed by this hotel. It wasn't definitely not worth the money. The don't usually write bad reviews unless I have to but the hotel was sub standard and I found the staff rude and unfriendly. I wish I had researched the hotel more before booking as I can now see the many have had a similar experience. It's not hard to be nice, friendly and provide a good service but they failed. The photos also do not live up to the experience when you get to the hotel. Koh lak is a nice place but the waters isn't. They must do better and I will not be returning nor will I recommend to anyone to go here! "

"Staff were excellent, initial problem with no wifi signal was resolved the next day. Booked a villa overlooking the pool but must say that it was in need of updating,looking very tired. Pool bar area very similar with missing tiles and algae around the elephant fountains. Signs around pool stating that towels on sunbeds will be temoved if not used for more than an hour yet towels placed on beds to reserve from before 7am and not in use until patrons had finished breakfast anytime up until 10am. As stated,staff were great but badly managed on the whole."
