"It was a pleasant stay at The Queens Hotel. We received a warm welcome on arrival. The position is perfect for visiting the Temple, overlooking the lake in Kandy but the traffic noise is incredible. Yes you are right in the heart of the city so not unexpected but trying to sleep is not easy. Room was clean and adequate and probably once was quite something but now old fashioned and very basic. "Good place to stay in Kandy. Walking distance to most attractions. Unfortunately hotel has NO lifts and being 4 stories may prove difficult for some. Wide stairs and port service does overcome this but could be better. This should be highlighted in advertising. Breakfast buffet excellent, with evening meals available. Great view over Kandy spoilt a little by substandard building close next door. Hotel unlicensed for alcohol but I understand this is being addressed."
