"The San Karlu is a BEAUTIFUL hotel, right in the heart of Valleta. The staff were so friendly, rooftop pool was great to cool down in, and included breakfast was yummy. I would highly recommend lodging here during your stay in Malta. Thank you!"

"Good size room , great location for transport. On the down side walls thin so you can hear everything outside room, which is fine as long as you have not got noisy people on your floor which unfortunately I did. Breakfast was basic but fine. Bit odd that you eat it in the reception area with around 6 tables. Couple of complaints that were dealt with straight away by friendly reception woman did not get her name but works late afternoons and evenings."

"The room was decorated beautifully. It was one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed at. Very comfortable bed and pillows. It had great full length mirrors if you wanted to do an outfit check before going out. There was a rooftop pool with a bar with music, it had a nice vibe. Wish I stayed more than one night. This hotel was close to the airport which is the reason why I chose it as I had a morning flight and I was staying on the other island of Gozo prior to this. I would definitely stay...

"For a five star hotel it was disappointing. First the positives… the pool, and pool area was wonderful and spacious. The buffet breakfast was nice with plenty of choices. That’s where it ends. The check-in was terrible. The clerk didn’t even smile or offer us a welcome drink as other guests were given. Despite it being a VIP Expedia hotel we were not offered an upgrade. "The hotel is centrally located to walk to all of the attractions in Valletta and transport to every where outside of the city. The rooms are spacious, the air conditioning kept us comfortable and the shower was fitted with a rain shower head and a handheld one as well. The staff was excellent. We were greeted every morning by a welcoming staff serving us at breakfast, which was excellent (fresh fruit, pastries, local yogurt, cereals and a choice of a substantial hot breakfast). "The hotel was excellent for location and amenities. The beach club was great for bathing and access for sea swimming. The roof top pool is worth a visit so book a sunbed as soon as you arrive. "The Waterfront is a no-frills mid-range hotel located on the Sliema waterfront, a short walk to the ferries and in the heart of the restaurant and bar district. The hotel is very well-maintained with gracious and helpful staff. The buffet breakfast in the Regatta Room is highly recommended with its lavish array of hot and cold selections. The 1Olive rooftop restaurant is a fun open-air setting but its themed buffet offerings are a big disappointment - I can't recommend dinner there.. By contrast...
