"It's an old hotel with history and character. The staff are excellent: polite and helpful. There's a lift to all floors, but still some stairs to some rooms. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The electrical wiring seems old, but everything works. There's no air conditioning. You can hear the station, especially at the back. Tea and coffee are in the room (but no milk or creamer). Some sound bleeds from the room next door. It has a grand entrance and is ideally situated for the Centre and Quayside. I didn't use the bar or have breakfast. I'd be content to stay here again."

"We got upgraded to the new wing into a Jr suit, cool right? Except it was up 48 steps with no elevator access. Sure wish we would have been warned about this. No porters, so we schlepped our suitcases up three flights of stairs."

"Great family hotel ran by friendly staff. Amenities were family oriented with puzzles and pool room. Swimming Pool idea L for spending an hour or so before mealtime. Hotel layout made it easy to navigate . Decor was colourful and bright. Food and service value for money. Would recommend an overnight stay if exploring the surrounding area or travelling form Newcastle airport."
