The location is fantastic, firstly. The apartment was a good size, and was pretty clean. The bed was comfy, however there was a small blood stain on the duvet. There was also no cold water from the taps, and the ice machine wasn’t working, so we had to buy bottled water to keep in the fridge. The air vents were rather noisy, I could still hear them while wearing ear plugs. The staff seemed friendly.
Great location and within walking distance of the town centre. Great roof top bar. A little tired looking hotel so could do with a little spruce up. Depending on your room you will hear the trains from VERY early!
Had a comfortable stay at the Vermont. Check in was chaotic with long waits, possibly due to the gig at St James. Room was nice and bed comfortable. Shower was awkward to use and water pressure not great. Bathroom could do with refurbishment but overall happy for what he had paid.

Didn’t sleep a wink unfortunately, apartment was so hot & a strange smell throughout!
Lovely hotel, with good staff, big problem though no air conditioning in bedroom!
Had very little sleep, there was a fan in the room but didn’t do much and couldn’t open windows.

Apart from the quality of the surroundings, the opulence of the decor and the delicious food- a hotel is made successful by its staff. The Vermont exceeds all expectations in this area. Staff are welcoming, helpful, easy to chat with and really can’t do enough for their customers. If we’re in the Newcastle area we will always be staying here ( we’ve stayed in a few others but they don’t compare). 11/10 👍
Great hotel, staff were fantastic, friendly and extremely helpful. The location is great in quiet area but in 5/10 walking distance of everything. We managed to get parking at the hotel however there are limited space first come first served. But over all a fabulous hotel.
I often stay at The Vermont and have always had a good experience. On this occassion, Daniel (don't think iv seen him before) at Reception was amazing. We had a very early start and were tired from our journey. Daniel swifty took care of our bags and bought us some coffee. Helped us with suggestions for Brunch places. Overall, Daniel was very kind, helpful and has amazing front of house presence.
£200 per night to get the massive heavy shower head under pressure to smash me across the head first thing in the morning.
Doesn’t appear to be any way to regulate the heating. Air conditioning panel is showing error E04 and doesn’t work. We turned the thermostat all the way down when we arrived but it had no effect. The windows in the bedrooms do not open meaning we couldn’t regulate the temperature at all. Because of the heat, we didn’t get enough rest. We told the duty manager how hot it was but it didn’t get fixed during our stay.
Key cards constantly broke meaning we kept getting locked out of our room.
Hotel offered us a disingenuous complimentary breakfast in a different building, only a couple of hours before our check-out time, when we still had to pack and had already made breakfast plans.

Poor experience one off or lack of staff???
The hotel seems to have lost staff members which they havent replaced as a result when you get to the hotel there was no one available to help with parking where as in the past this was dealt with by very helpful concierge staff. I was then queuing back to the main entrance for half an hour plus to check in albeit they had a large work party checking in but this could have been dealt with separately and organised away from the reception area if planned correctly and more reception staff on duty.
