"Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. "Room was cold so we put on the a/c. It blew cold air continually. We thought it would eventually blow warm air. At 3am my husband was so cold we decided to leave for home. The checkout lady told us we should have gone to her as it’s controlled at reception. Would have been good to know this."

"The inn was okay and the staff were nice. Couldn’t sleep though which is the point of a hotel. Had a road facing room and could hear every single car as it sped by. Torture. The shower was also maybe the worst I’ve had in the last 5 years of constant travel. Felt like someone held a pinched hose over me and there was no water pressure at off peak shower times. "

"Gorgeous property, staff were so lovely, lots of parking! Room and decor was lovely and we felt so at home. It’s a shame we didn’t spend more time on site. Breakfast was great, and the cafe was insane! Probably one of the best cafes in the county, if not country. We will definitely return. The choice to purchase local produce from the pantry was a nice touch too. We visited the area for business, but hope to come back in our spare time and stay again!"

"Great room. Plenty of space. All necessary items in room. Staff downstairs were very helpful whenever asked. Breakfast was a massive choice of items and staff couldn't do enough. The coffee was great! Perfect for our stay. Have stayed there before and will stay again."

"Pleasant stay at the Seaton Lane Inn with a little hiccup of no towels in the room on arrival but was remedied straightaway. Check in was quick and easy although steep stairs to the upper level of the Inn rooms. May be a little difficult for older people to negotiate these. Had food in the restraunt one night and enjoyed the steak which was cooked as asked and the service was also good from the waiter. Check out was also quick and easy so a very good stay at a good hotel."

"We chose this hotel because of its countryside location and were looking forward to a quiet break outside of Durham City Centre for a weekend trip. Unfortunately, a large event took place during our stay and we were not informed in advance, despite being told that guests are usually notified when such events are taking place when I raised the issue. "I have used this hotel very often in the past But I was shocked how there Standards have dropped. The flood was very poor the service very poor.The lack of singning for there different areas none existent. The room very nice for normal users but for some disabled like me it was a night mare. There was a lack handrails in the shower the shower was fixed and did not detach from the fitted so was to high, Lack of places to put soap bags had to put them on the floor. "Very nicely situated in a quiet village area 3miles from the town centre. Large car park at the rear and easy access to a bus service outside. Clean pub and rooms of a reasonable quality. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Well priced."

"The room was clean and functional. Plenty of parking. The receptionist who checked me in was miserable and didn’t make me feel welcome. Pretty sure I was the only one staying there. The hotel is very tired in most respects. It’s quite isolated also so you need a car to get anywhere. My room was located very close to the A19 so a lot of road traffic noise."
