A comfortable hotel located near the train station and the the morning market. It is also very accessible to other areas via trams or trains. The breakfast is fantastic, delicious with lots of options. There is grilled squid/octopus as well, which is pretty rare. Overall, it a very nice place to stay.

Hotel is right across from the JR station and there are so many food options close to the hotel. Staff is also very friendly. Overall an excellent experience during my stay at Flexstay Inn Hakodate.

A good location hotel for travellers by train/bus

The hotel is just opposite of JR Hakodate station and bus station, which makes it easy for free and easy travellers like us. Also the location is close to town center where shops and restaurants are just walking distances. For sightsee, it is easy to get around since it is located near JR station and bus station.

Hotel room size is reasoble for the cost and breakfast is better than average. Satisfied with the stay overall. The only down size was the air conditioner is centrally controlled for either hot or cold, guess can't set for a desired temperature

Really fantastic location - directly opposite Hakodate Station (you can literally see it from the station) and walking distance to a lot of restaurants. The ramen place next door (Shinano) has excellent Hakodate shio ramen but be warned, they sell out quickly so be ready to line up just before opening hours. Very clean rooms and decently spacious by Japanese standards. The cleaning crew were excellent and really took care to make sure the place was spotless. Great amenities - the hotel provides pyjamas which they change for you every night, and there is a section at reception for further amenities that aren't in your room (e.g. razors, tea bags). Washing machines are available on the ground floor for ¥600 per use (includes soap). Just be warned for anyone with accessibility issues, that the bathroom is elevated above the room level and can be a trip hazard when trying to come back out. You also have to climb into the bathtub to shower.

The staff was helpful when checking in and out. The staff was also helpful when we had to store the luggage at the hotel after we have checked out of the hotel. The only thing I could nitpick is that, the climate control in the hotel room cannot be changed from heating mode to air circulation mode.

Still being renovated, but this is not intrusive at all. Super clean and new feeling. Stayed here a few years ago as the Smile Hotel and this is a massive improvement. Rooms are expectedly small, but two large twins and one twin is large enough for three adults. Entrance after midnight using intercom if you haven't checked in, which was a lifesaver since our train arrived at 11:57. Steps from the station and a a few more to the morning market. Highly recommend.

Really great value! We reserved for our family (5) and the 5th bed (pullout couch) was already made with sheets and everything. We had 4 full size beds. This hotel is only 2-3 min from the station. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. We chose the option with breakfast (buffet style), and we loved the breakfast, too. My favorite was mini-melon-pan (bread) and there were many choices for food for breakfast, both Japanese and western style cuisine. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Simple and easy. They provided 3 recommendation restaurants with 3 coupons. We used the third for our best raw seafood bowl meal of the trip. The coupon gave us a grilled scallop each for spending above 2,200yen each. We wouldn’t have found our best meal if it weren’t for their recommendation. The let down was the down was not sound proof. There were American’s in the corridor after midnight chatting and it woke me and kept me up. Beside that, it met my needs.

Perfect location

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights with my sister. The staffs were helpful and friendly although they were not good at English. They provided information for sightseeing and sorted out every problems during my stayed. The room is small but is clean with comfortable bed. Basic facilities are equipped in room. Location is great. 1 mins walking distance to city bus, airport shuttle and tram stops where was perfect for tourists took night bus and with big suitcases. It’s location is also close to JR station and seafood market.

Nice friendly staff, convenient location (the JR station is across the street from the hotel). The room was a good size for our party of 4 adults, each of us got a twin bed. There was room to open our suitcases. However, the bathroom was horrible. There was mold on all the walls, and it was tiny. There's not much room to move. The toilet, washstand, and bathtub/shower were all squeezed into that small space. It was old whereas the bedroom was renovated, looked new.

Clean and comfortable with great food

Great location right across the station. I really thought it'd be your standard business hotel but they were so much more. Abundance of amenities provided, you'd be set even if you only came with the clothes on your back. The staff were so hospitable. The hotel offers Western and Japanese style rooms, which I think is lovely. Western beds were firm but comfortable.There's a ramen shop attached in the main floor, unfortunately they were sold out and closed early the night I was there. However, I don't know whether I was just super hungry, but the breakfast buffet was absolutely divine the next morning. The cook staff were so kind too. Quality over quantity for sure, but everything was so delicious. Definitely the best breakfast I had at a hotel for my whole two-week stay in Japan.

This hotel is very good for the price. It is greatly located across the road from the train station and the bus station making it easy to get around Hakodate. The only bad point were there was thick layers of dust on the doors and walls of the room and also they have an internal heating/cooling system and due to the cooler weather it was set to heating, but making the rooms extremely hot. We had to sleep with the window open but that let in all the street noise and the wind would bang the shutters. The shutters can’t close either when the window is open so it let all the light it. Overall the hotel was good for the price.

The bad bits first. i) there was no cleaning service unless you ask for it. I resorted in having to empty my own trash from my room. I appreciate that we need to be kinder to the enviornment, but no cleaning service unless you pay extra is a little over the top. ii)The room looked very tired and it needs a lick of paint and a new carpet or deep cleaned. Positves i) Renovations seem to be taking place(not warned about this) so rooms are probably being updated. ii) Breakfast was generally good. iii)Customer service was good too. iv) Great location v)Bed was comfortable
