"Agree entirely with a previous review. Not an hotel, just a B&B with bar and a very limited menu. The proprietess wanted to talk at us. The son, considerably older than 21, came up to us in the bar and said his mother would be with us soon to serve us drinks. Clearly he was not authorized to. Why? So we waited another 5 --10 mins for her to appear. No hot water in room - neither shower nor wash basin. Reactions were "we know one of the hot water timers is faulty, but it's nearly time for annual...

"Staff were friendly, room is very outdated and had a strange smell. Beds were average, shower was good. Breakfast in the morning wasn’t fantastic, we paid £120 for one night stay with breakfast but not sure it’s quite worth that to be honest. Wouldn’t stay here again."

"Perfect location! Can't beat it - such a pretty place. On our check in, there was live music so couldn't even get into the pub to check in. Given the rooms are upstairs, an early night was not on the cards. Breakfast was good. "

"The bed was the worst thing old and extremely uncomfortable matress ws hard and lumpy and the bed creaked whe i tried to turnover thank goodness i only stayed 2 nights instead of 3 that i intended.. breakfast was a non event even tho it was advertised..."

"Bit difficult to establish where the parking is as not part of the hotel, otherwise enjoyed the short stay, mainly to see the Beryl Cook Exhibition nearby. Breakfasts are really good, the bar meals are the same as the restaurant but we were unable to use it as it was always fully booked. We chose to use the bar & staff, particularly Josh, were pleasant, helpful & attentive. Plymouth as a whole is looking very sad & needs a lot of attention!"
