"The service of the staff was excellent and car parking is free. However, the plug sockets next to the bed required moving the bedside tables, so if you want to use any electrical devices whilst in bed, you had to use the sockets across the room. The toilet positioned in the room were too close to the wall and the handles to open the windows were loose and call fall out anytime. "

"A very pleasant stay at “The Carps”. Very pleasant, helpful, friendly staff. The room was very pleasant with a comfortable bed and roomy shower room. The room layout reflects the history of the property with a couple of shallow steps between the bedroom and shower. We stayed for dinner and were rewarded by a tasty meal. "Room was pleasant but was not serviced on second day. Cooked breakfast was reasonable but there was no cereal to start with nor toast and jam to follow. One cup of cofee only which was served 30 minutes before the cooked meal arrived on the second day. Mains were good but starters and sweet menu was limited and fairly expensive. "Nice room in a traditional pub, but it didn’t have space for a chair or even a luggage rack. You have to put your luggage on the bed to unpack and then sit on the bed to drink tea and eat the continental breakfast. The shower was good with lots of hot water. The bed and pillows weren’t great. The noise from the pub is very noticeable, keeping us awake until 1:45 am on a Friday night. "The room was a good size and it was nice and clean. It was also warm and cosy. As was explained by the current owners, the room needs updating over time. "

Weeny downside, I had already paid via Expedia, my partner didn't realise, and when checking in, whilst I was elsewhere, paid for the room. "Friendly welcome. Comfortable, clean and compact room. Both of our rooms (203 and 204) had opaque and inaccessible windows (behind the bed) so there’s little point in paying for a room with a window. Unbeatable location."
