"An absolute gem of a find. We booked for my birthday at the end of last year, loved it so much, went back this last weekend for our anniversary. The quiet location, the lovely food, the friendly staff, all make for a really gorgeous overnight treat. Whilst last time we stayed in the four poster bed room, we opted for the balcony room this time. It was a little tired and in need of some TLC but none the less, it was a lovely stay. "

Felt v relaxed in the living room but the bedroom with en-suite and a dressing area made it feel large and comfortable.. Large kitchen with table for 2. Far better and so much more than a hotel room. "There was a nice welcome as we arrived. We had booked dinner for a later time but was able to be seated early. The food was very good with a good choice in the menu. The room was large and had all the required facilities. "

"We arrived a little early, but found a parking space at the property, went in and introduced ourselves. We had booked a twin room, but we're given a free upgrade to a lovely, and spacious room with a four poster and excellent views of the city. Our room wasn't ready but we were given a key and told we could park up and take the fifteen minute walk into town. Our room was ready on our return, and a lovely room it was. "Nice room in a traditional pub, but it didn’t have space for a chair or even a luggage rack. You have to put your luggage on the bed to unpack and then sit on the bed to drink tea and eat the continental breakfast. The shower was good with lots of hot water. The bed and pillows weren’t great. The noise from the pub is very noticeable, keeping us awake until 1:45 am on a Friday night. "Great location for park and ride into Bath. We stayed in the main building-this was a mistake. It was noisy-the annex (where we have stayed before) is much better. Our room had a great view of the race course but unfortunately was directly above the kitchen. Kitchen smells and noise drifted up and on one occasion very loud music from the kitchen.
