"This was our second stay at 40 winks and it was even better! Warn welcome, beautiful decor, delicious breakfast. Host went out of his way to make our visit run smoothly as we were here for a graduation ceremony. We will be back. Didn’t have time to use the new bar so we must return!! "
"This is my third stay at the Indigo and it did not disappoint. My daughter is a U.S. student at Durham and so we love the proximity to her college and the town. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, and the property is clean. The bar and restaurant are both good as is the cafe in the lobby. The Indigo is my hotel of choice when in Durham and I highly recommend it!"

"Our stay at Burnhopeside Hall was one of our most memorable ever. Christine, our hostess, was delightful and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings could not have been more grand. This is a stately old home, full of beautiful furniture and dishes, near sheep pastures and the river. "The room was comfortable and quiet. Staff were welcoming and the breakfast was great. We ate at the pub on a couple of evenings. The food was excellent. Would highly recommend. "
"This was a very nice comfortable place. We had a little trouble finding it. Was easy to check in and out of. The only suggestion I would make was to put the exterior patio lights on a timer so that they turn off at night— if it’s hot and you have the window open then you have all the light from the patio. But it was very clean and comfortable."
"Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. We hadn’t met the owner, so decided it was easier just to clean them both before using them.
