"Location is absolutely wonderful for visiting Edinburgh. You're walking distance to beautiful views of the entire city via Calton Hill, lots of restaurants nearby, and you can catch trolleys and buses very easily at the end of Royal Terrace or just walk a few miles over to Old Town on foot. Rooms are nice with excellent views over London Road Gardens. Breakfast and meals are convenient if you don't want to head out. The layout of electric switches in the room is a bit odd, and the shower door latch was worn down so it kept swinging, but hot water is all we needed after a long day of trekking around the city. Staff are very helpful and courteous."

"The hotel was clean, the staff was great, and it was located very centrally. Less than 5 minute walk to the train station. 10 minute walk to tour bus pickup point. 10-15 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle. Rooms were pretty quiet and very comfortable. There is no mini fridge."

Our check-in was problematic as I couldn’t find a Premier Inn booking reference on the confirmation email so checking in at the electronic kiosk wasn’t working. There was someone standing at reception (not a permanent reception desk) who was not initially welcoming or helpful (I.e., rude). Ultimately he checked the email and agreed no booking reference was visible and only then agreed to take my name and was able to quickly check me in. "
