"Property overbooked rooms, paid for a partial ocean view master suite and was put in a regular double bed the first night. Front desk guy told us that room would be available the next day. Next day came and still no master suite with an ocean view.
Front desk promised to give us a correct room the following day so that would have been three days of us being there before we were available to stay in the room we paid for. The hotel is a boutique hotel or a part of a bigger chain of...

"My girlfriend and I stayed at Villa Madre during our trip to Playa del Carmen and had a great experience. The location made it easy to explore downtown, the beach and Quinta Avenida, while the hotel felt relaxed and welcoming when we returned. We’re adventurous travelers, so the staff’s help choosing and arranging local tours was especially valuable. Our room was comfortable, breakfast was a great start to the day, and the pool was perfect after exploring. We’d gladly stay again."

"Para empezar no deberían tener publicado el hotel que se encuentra en la playa si no está en servicio.
Llegué y nos dijeron que que tenía una semana cerrado. Yo la reservación la hice 4 días antes a si que pudieron haber avisado a Expedia. Ya que yo quería un hotel con habitacion al mar. Me dieron una mejor suite en la quinta avenida llegué muy noche y ya no podía hacer nada.
El servicio de atención es regular creo que les faltan un poco de amabilidad, solo la gente de limpieza es muy amable.

"Great Location, just about two minutes walk from the Quinto Av. There is secure underground parking for your vehicle. Staff is friendly. Better job can be done by housekeeping. The room we stayed had someone’s hair scrunchie with hair out in the open. Not a good impression for hygiene."

"DO NOT STAY HERE!
I booked this room as an emergency and I thought it would bring me the peace and quiet I needed to get away for a couple of days but I was very wrong!
Although the room was pleasantly looking, the lack of beach just makes this place not worth the money.
The rooms do not have actual door, they have a sliding door with a very small lock that doesn't close completely. If anyone wanted to break in it would be as simple as pulling the door a little hard.
The pool is more like a...
