"I had an amazing solo staycation at the C Baldwin Hotel. I booked the corner room and absolutely loved how big it was. The best part was definitely the windows — the room was basically surrounded by them, and the nighttime city views were beautiful. Honestly, it didn’t bother me that there wasn’t a pool or extra amenities because that’s not why I booked the stay. I wanted a relaxing, upscale getaway and that’s exactly what I got. I also appreciated having the valet option available because it made everything easier. I was disappointed that the restaurant was closed during my stay, but thankfully I was still able to order food at the bar. The food ended up being really good, the drinks were delicious, and the staff was super friendly. I also loved how quiet the hotel was overall. A few small things I noticed: the bed was a little hard for my liking, the bathroom vent was extremely loud and randomly came on, and I do wish they had hand soap in the restroom. Also, for the price of the hotel, I really feel like they should offer complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was delicious by the way, but $27 for an omelette and bacon is kind of crazy. Overall, this hotel — and pretty much everything around it — is definitely on the expensive side, but if you enjoy staying somewhere nice and treating yourself, it’s absolutely worth it. I would definitely stay here again."

"The staff were very helpful and polite. I just wish the fan in our room was not so loud while it was running. We had a hard time sleeping due to that. Regardless of that, the location was perfect and easy for us to get around town. Josh, and the other staff working in the kitchen and front desk were very polite. Kudos to the team!"

"My stay at the Aloft Houston Downtown was disappointing overall. The room was poorly designed, and the water pressure throughout the hotel was terrible. The walls are extremely thin — I could hear my neighbors clearly, along with all the noise happening outside. From bushes stopping and unloading to motorcycles zooming by, it was untenable. Even the valet workers talking outside my window kept me awake, making it very difficult to sleep. The bed was also uncomfortable, which only made the experience worse. On top of that, parking is $57, and my card was charged twice for it. For the price, I expected a much better experience."

"Staff was great. Nice, very friendly and helpful. The room was the size of a cruise cabin. It felt so small. The view from the inside out was awful. There was just another brick wall to look at. The room had no safe, no microwave or refrigerator. There was no ice machine around. The closet and bathroom were very very small. It felt like a cruise cabin bathroom. There was barely enough room to turn around. The bed was very hard but the pillows were great. Our bed was not made when we returned later on. We stayed two days and couldn’t wait to leave. Oh and the parking is valet at $45.00 a night. We asked to self park but they said it would cost more. Plus we had to pay an additional $100.00 deposit after the room had already been paid for. They said it would be refunded after checkout. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It looks good coming in and online but in reality it is definitely a rip off. Do not waste your time or your money. This trip that was supposed to be a mini vacation turned out vial because of this hotel experience."
