"Gorgeous property. We stayed in a superior room which was very spacious, very clean, and with lovely decor. The pub below is great and has a pool table which is nice for the evenings. And great breakfast selection included too. Would thoroughly recommend!"

"Bed was lovely nice linen .. basic facilities we paid a lot more then my friends £10 extra to take your dog .. shower was only hot for myself and cold for my partner same for my friend’s.. needed to find a toilet roll from downstairs as only half in the room which wasn’t quite ready at 3:40 .. ok for one night"

"Nice country hotel with a reasonable restaurant for dinner and very nice breakfast Restaurant overlooks well kept gardens and it would have been lovely to eat alfresco on the terrace had the May weather been kinder. Comfortable room with good tea/coffee making facilities….. fresh milk in the refrigerator every day which was a nice touch. Comfortable shared sitting room in the main house. We stayed 3 nights this quiet hotel mid-May and had an enjoyable stay. Parking was easy. We ate one night at The Cornish Arms in Tavistock ( 10 min drive) which can be recommended. "

"Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here… Yes it is old fashioned but that added to the charm, there was even a bath, very welcome after a few days walking! Very good value, lovely views and instant access on to the moors, very welcoming staff, delicious food, and best of all… superb beer! All in all a delightful experience of staying at at proper traditional English inn"

"The owners were very welcoming, our room had excellent views and location , the room was well equipped and clean. We ate at the local pub Bearslake inn in the evening which had excellent food and great service. Breakfast was excellent, with a fantastic cooked breakfast , and toast with continental included also. Location of the property is good with easy access to the major roads."

"Incredible Property. Beautiful grounds, such history. The attention to detail in the interior is incredible. I’m so sad I only got to stay the one night but I will definitely be back. The food… I cannot overstay how delicious it is. I had the lamb as a main in the evening and it was one of the most delicious things I’ve eaten in a very long time. Highly highly recommend"
