"The hotel itself was fine. The pool which was one of the main reasons for booking this property was closed. Then the hotel sent me a parking fine for despite paying for parking and having a receipt which has been nothing but stress to have this finally removed"

Then discovered the phone didn’t work so had a 5 minute trip back to reception who advised the water was out throughout the building. I was annoyed they’d let us check in and not mentioned this but they told us it would be back on in 30 mins. 2 hours later no water still so another hike to reception and was told...

"We only stayed one night and suited us fine. Staff were helpful and friendly and our room was a good size and clean. A little dated but it wouldn’t stop us staying there again. Breakfast was good with a varied choice. There was no lift but staff carried our luggage to our room which was a nice touch. Sizeable carpark and a good location."

"This was my first time staying at the Holiday Inn Watford and it was amazing! Everyone was sooo friendly especially the staff in the restaurant. "The room was clean, the towels very good quality. The word Chef should be taken out of the title as the food was poor. No bowl of chopped fruit at breakfast. A blackberry and apple crumble was a layer of thick pastry with a thin smear of fruit, scarcely visible topped with a very solid thick layer of crumble - inedible. Parking good and the staff were pleasant and helpful"
