"I had a great time at La Plantation: free upgrade, early check in and late check out. The staff is cheerful and helpful. My sea view villa was on the hill, and it required a lot of walking. I liked my workout, but for people with mobility issues it could be a challenge."

"Staff is very nice and beach is perhaps the best or one of the best in SXM. Inconsistencies with how staff can / cannot bill lunch to your room. Reception says yes. Some restaurant staff say yes. Some say no, you need a card or cash. Why? They can’t, for some reason, or don’t want to include tips when charging to the room. But, beach boys have no problem with this. Something they need to fix. Grounds in desperate need of basic TLC… dingy concrete that needs power washing. Lawn hasn’t been trimmed in weeks or months. Rooms are clean, but cracks in tile, mirrors abound. Staff is very friendly but don’t think of them as concierge level for dinner reservations. I could book a resort restaurant dinner online what they told me what full. No gym at all. Nice sized spa that was completely closed and they didn’t know when or why is was or wasn’t open. Parking gate is tricky and takes ages to open. Need to ask for coffee maker, then they gladly provide Nespresso w pods. Room cleaning is spotty. Some areas cleaned, straightened, some not. Very odd. No locking the patio sliders. Didn’t work. If you want a clean room with decent lunch spot where you can walk to a gorgeous, uncrowded beach, then this is it. Just don’t expect top service or amenities."

"We only had one night with them, but we made the most of it having a fantastic dinner and enjoying the beach in the morning. Delighted with our complimentary bottle of wine on our balcony before dinner. Everyone was helpful and staff was easy to find."

"The hotel promotes breakfast included but this was such a dissapointment. Plain coffee, no juice, very minimal bread, ceral croissonts. Such a dissapointment on top of the beach being un-usable due to the sargassum. This could have been an area to make it up to guests and they failed here. "

"One night stay. I wish we had more time. Hotel property was amazing…. Charming and right on the beach. Fabulous views. Safe walkable area. Staff and service were superb. Really enjoyed using the beach chairs/umbrella for a fabulous day at the beach. Would love to come back."

"I had a great time. Every staff member is helpful and very nice. My favorite amenity was the swimming pool. It's shared between four rooms. But in reality it's like your private pool. Good breakfast (not savory, you have to pay extra for that), gourmet dinner. Merci, Esmeralda!"
