"Online search showed hotel had a pool - called Reception only to be told there was none. Daughter disappointed. LOTS of dogs present during our stay (I love dogs) but as an asthmatic, I was wheezy - despite asking for pet-free room. Literally watched neighbours beside us bring dogs into their room! Do better Delta. Room faced the ocean - but windows dirty and obstructed view. But I guess salt spray would do that? Breakfast here was so-so (hot items not fresh and under heat lamps too long)."

"Nice stay staff friendly, comfy bed clean bathroom does need a lick of paint in places and some marks on carpet cleaned. We had breakfast nice selection would have liked a bit hotter however quality was good."

"The hotel was in a perfect location in the old town. A prominent hotel on the high street dating back to 17th century, lots of history attached to the hotel. The room was comfortable but in need of updating. An enjoyable stay in an historic building lots of atmosphere and character. Only disadvantage was the lack of breakfast although there are plenty of cafes nearby. I would certainly stay there again."

"We didn't stay at the property, as when we entered the 4th floor bedroom it was really hot. the window was open to its 3 inch extent, and there was a tower fan, that had little effect on the heat . The reception staff said that none of the rooms had working air conditioning, so we couldn't change rooms. We decided to leave and find alternative accomodation."

"The Lion Inn was a last minute booking but it did not disappoint. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was served hot. The breakfast was cooked to order and was a great welsh breakfast. The rooms were cosy but with a boutique hotel theme. Public areas were clean there was parking available with tables outside. The village was lovely too and the location made easy access to Montgomery and Welshpool. A great base for people touring that area. Wish we could have booked for...

"The peace, and quiet of the room, Was a large room, everything we needed. The staff were very nice, and friendly at check in. The complimentary biscuits, and water bottles was a nice touch to the room. Didn’t eat there, but the smells coming from the kitchen was delightful when was leaving the building, Great location, and price. Overall this place is excellent, will Definitely be coming back when visiting Shrewsbury again 👍"

"Great inn close to wonderful hiking. Staff were friendly and the food was good! Comfortable room, including the bed. Only real drawback is that is could get really warm at night."
