Loved the location of being nearer the old side of Kyoto. Spacious lobby was lovely along with rooftop bar. Balance between sympathetic design and modern luxury. We arrived early on a wet day and the staff were great! It was to early to check in but they dropped us at a dry café, gave us umbrellas and a phone for later. Once we could check in we got welcomed at reception with a drink and snack then shown to our room. We had the Naruto room which was absolutely amazing! Great location and beautifully decorated inside. Rooms were spacious and everything was spotless. The staff were wonderful and super friendly and attentive.

The staffs are very polite and helpful starting from the introduction, foods are delicious and the honkan hot springs are very clean. Quiet room and the temperature is just right. The staff serving the meal explains details in every dish. Kimono and yukata are provided. Shuttle services and easy access. We all had a good experience.

Absolutely too notch hotel, should be five star. You are taken care of before you even enter the premises. Reception staff most welcoming, all v organised. My superior room was incredible with an outdoor mini onsen, private and luxurious. Room huge, tatami mats, spotless and smelt amazing as did the lobby. Perfect hotel! It’s is perfectly placed next to everything you need and walking distance to the station. The hotel itself is very clean, spacious with great views, very classy and very nice staff. You can see the property is well kept and cared for. I will certainly stay here again without any hesitation on my next visit and stay in Kobe. The room was huge, especially by Japanese standards. I enjoyed everything about the hotel - from the grandeur, elegance, food and location. Excellent value for money. Slightly surprised that you need to pay to use the gym but that’s a relatively minor problem.

Excellent value for money. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything I needed for my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient for exploring Kobe Port. For the price, the quality of the accommodation exceeded my expectations. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kobe.

Lovely hotel, excellent service. Only minor issue is that it is a 10-15 min walk up the hill to get there from the bus station. Therefore if you have a problem with walking up the hill then go to the tourist information and kindly ask them to ring the hotel for you and for them to send you a hotel van for pick up.The breakfast and evening dinner were both included in the price and booking and were both delicious and of good portion size. This was our first time at a Ryokan and an Onsen. We arrived at Shin-Kobe station and took the subway to Tanigami, changed there for a train to Arimaguchi, then changed again for a train which shuttles between Arimaguchi and Arima Onsen. The transfer from Shin-Kobe was accomplished with a single ticket for ¥720. The 12 tatami mat Japanese style room was used for breakfast, dinner and sleeping.
